Kerry Washington Talks Post-Baby Health: ‘I’m Breastfeeding So I Can’t Starve Myself’ (Video)

The Scandal actress showed off her incredible post-pregnancy figure and spoke about choosing to breastfeed her baby

There’s no denying the fact that Kerry Washington has always had an incredibly figure (she was brave enough to wear a crop top while pregnant, after all) and the new mum has snapped back to her petite post-baby frame just six months after welcoming her daughter Isabelle.

The Scandal actress chose to wear a tight-fitting black leather dress, which showed off her toned mum bod. But Kerry revealed she hasn’t been excessively dieting to regain her slim frame – and the 37-year-old star revealed it’s because she’s breastfeeding.

‘I’ve always been a person who really appreciates health in a proactive way,’ Kerry said on US video show BET’s 106 & Park. I workout, I eat right so those were the things I continued to do once the doctor said I could but not to be crazy about it.

‘I’m breastfeeding so I can’t starve myself, you know it’s important for me to be a good mom and be a good actor and be responsible to myself and my family.’

This is one of the first times that Kerry has spoken about her daughter – she’s notoriously private and has kept her away from the limelight since her birth on 21 April.

‘I guess I feel like for me what I do for a living is become other people so it’s important to keep my private life private because then you can really believe that I’m these other people,’ says Kerry.

‘For me and my work I give 150 percent,’ she continues. ‘I do not hold back at all but I feel like something has to be mine and with my family we got to keep each other for each other and the work belongs to everybody.’
