The rock star has surprised us all with his latest work – a children’s book
Apparently Keith Richards isn’t happy with just being a singer, guitarist, songwriter and a founding member of the Rolling Stones. At the age of 70, the star has now added another string to his bow – children’s book author.
The book, titled, Gus & Me: The Story Of My Grandad and My First Guitar is about Keith’s grandfather, Theodore Augustus Dupree, who played in a jazz big band and introduced Keith to music.

‘I have just become a grandfather for the fifth time, so I know what I'm talking about,’ the musician told The Guardian. ‘The bond, the special bond, between kids and grandparents is unique and should be treasured. This is a story of one of those magical moments. May I be as great a grandfather as Gus was to me.’
It’s a family work as Keith’s daughter, Theodora Dupree Richards, has illustrated the book with images inspired by photos of Keith’s childhood.

‘When I found out they wanted me to be a part of this project, my immediate instinct was to say yes, and I am so happy I did,’ said Theodora. ‘To be able to explore my father's relationship with his grandfather was a gift in itself.’
