And Your Favourite Fairytale Is…

Forget Red Riding Hood and Sleeping Beauty – our ultimate fairytale has a slightly bigger main cast…

Bad apples, dwarves and an evil queen have triumphed in the battle of the fairytales – Snow White is officially the nation’s favourite.

That’s according to a poll of grown-ups by tuition provider Explore Learning, which saw Cinderella come in second and Jack & The Beanstalk climb (geddit?) to take third place.

Snow White’s Evil Queen was also named the scariest villain, followed by the witch in Hansel and Gretel (totally get that one *shudder*) and the big bad wolf in Little Red Riding Hood.

Surprisingly, Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent didn’t rate much in the scare stakes, despite Angelina Jolie bringing her to life (vamp lipstick and all) in a new film.

The actress has revealed her daughter Vivian, who stars in the movie with her, was one of the only children not afraid of her mum’s outfit.

‘Vivian wasn’t scared of me at all. She’s one of those kids that’s so into Mommy. Everything’s [about] Mommy, so she just doesn’t care,’ she told heat.
‘It’s one of the reasons why we cast her in the film. There were a few kids on set who saw me… and cried.’
