Are You This Imaginative With Your Kids?

We're all for a bit of creative play here at M&B. And these parents take it to a whole new level...

If the closest you get to creative play is putting on (albeit brilliant) character voices for storytime, it may be time to step it up a gear.

Blogger Refe Tuma and his wife have started an annual tradition for their kids: Dinovember. A whole month where they convince their children that their plastic dinosaurs come to life - and get up to mischief - while they're asleep.

The children have woken up to find the dinosaurs have managed to get into a box of cereal, cause havoc with loo roll in the bathroom or gone crazy with their Crayons.

The arty take on Dinovember

Some mornings, they even helped out with the washing up...

Dinovember gets underway in the kitchen...

The inspiration for the challenge? 'Because in the age of iPads and Netflix, we don’t want our kids to lose their sense of wonder and imagination,' writes Refe. 'In a time when the answers to all the world’s questions are a web-search away, we want our kids to experience a little mystery. All it takes some time and energy, creativity, and a few plastic dinosaurs.'

Take a look at some more antics the dinosaurs got up to on Refe Tuma's blog post. Or join in with the Kansas City based family's challenge at facebook.com/dinovember.
