Picking a baby name is a tough business, which may be why some new mums are turning to celebrities for ideas on what to call their little one…
From North West to Harper Seven Beckham, there are some pretty unique names chosen by celebrity parents. But that doesn’t stop us mere mortals from following suit and calling our babies something equally strange.
According to a new survey, conducted by Philips AVENT, 15 per cent of British mums are influenced by famous parents for baby name inspiration.

The survey also revealed which celebrity baby names from the last 30 years are thought to be the most obscure. North West was voted the strangest name, followed by Apple Martin (Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter) and then Princess Tiammi Andre (Kate Price and Peter Andre’s daughter).
In fourth place was Kate Winslet and Ned Rocknroll’s son Bear Blaze Winslet followed by Jay Z and Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy.

But it’s not just name ideas that we look to celebrities for. Over a third of the 1002 pregnant women and mums polled admit to adopting a specific parenting style, such as attachment parenting, after hearing about a celebrity doing it.

And 15 per cent said that celebrities have inspired them to balance a busy career with motherhood.
