Photographer Captures What Mothers Really Look Like – And It’s Beautiful

When photographer and mum Jade Beall posted photos of her nude post-baby body online, she didn’t expect to receive the reaction she did…

A book filled with photographs of pregnant women and mums in all their glory is being released this month.

The book, titled A Beautiful Body Project: The Bodies Of Mothers is filled with raw snapshots of women at various stages of motherhood.

The project is the brainchild of mum and professional photographer Jade Beall, who, after battling with insecurities about her own self-image, posted pics of her post-baby body online.

The images went viral and prompted hundreds of other mothers to ask for Jade to photograph them – leading to the birth of Jade’s project.

‘I gained 50 pounds with my pregnancy and that added to my personal history of oppressive self-loathing in a culture that praises mostly photoshopped images of women in media,’ said Jade.

The below video explains the motivation behind Jade’s project in more detail. Click this link to see all the gorgeous pictures.
