Celebrity Mums’ Post-Pregnancy Weight Loss Secrets

Section: Celebrity Mums
Seriously, how do they do it? Shedding the pregnancy weight can be a real chore for some, but for others it seems their figures just snap back into shape (jealous? Us?). We reveal how some of these well-known faces got their figures back in record time (let’s face it, they probably had a lot of help…right?)

Kristen Cavallari

This ex-reality star and presenter, 27, is now a proud mum-of-two after giving birth to baby boy Jaxon Wyatt Cutler back in May this year. You’d never know it, judging by her figure. In fact, the star told E! News that she has lost 20 pounds since giving birth. So how did she do it? 'I've been working out four to five times a week for 30 to 45 minutes at home, doing tons of leg work like squats, lunges and lifting weights,' she said. She is also an advocate of clean eating, saying, ‘I don't eat any toxic chemicals and I try to eat organic as often as possible.’

Lily Allen

The secret to singer Lily Allen’s incredible post-pregnancy size 8 figure? Crisps… Yep, the outspoken star, 29, has revealed, ‘I just eat a lot of crisps, I'm not really eating a lot of proper meals while on tour.’ Lily’s also cited her energetic dance routines for the reason for her slender shape (and those abs!). ‘I think it’s touring and dancing and probably, you know, the not wanting to eat room service thing,’ she added.

Sienna Miller

Blonde bombshell Sienna, 31, admitted that she’s never really had to worry about her figure (much to our envy). She’s clearly not a fan of the gym, saying in an interview that she gets too bored on a treadmill (don’t we all). However, she really couldn’t care less. ‘My body's a completely different thing to me, it's not mine - all the attachment to its flaws or any aesthetic attachment is gone…You understand what breasts are for; and I have such enormous respect for my body because of what it can do.' We hear you Sienna!

Rochelle Wiseman

Saturday’s singer Rochelle is now the third member of the group to have a baby – and she worked right up until the birth. The mum-of-one, who gave birth to her and hubby Marvin’s first child together back in May 2013, Alaia-Mai, clearly isn’t into quick faddy fixes, tweeting, 'I wanna get back to my old body the healthy way #runtime’. Go Rochelle!

Miranda Kerr

Amazingly, supermodel Miranda was back on the catwalk modelling lingerie a mere eight weeks after giving birth. Miranda has previously spoken of her ‘good genes’, but she believes breastfeeding played a big part. ‘I just loved breastfeeding. It was something that came very easily to me and it helped speed up my metabolism,' she told Lucky magazine. ‘I nursed for a year and a half, and I pumped when I was at work,’ she added.

Lara Stone

Six weeks after supermodel Lara gave birth to baby Alfred Lara, she met A-list fitness guru and Bodyism founder James Duigan who helped her to get back into shape. 'I felt like I was in a really safe place,' she told Net A Porter’s The Edit. 'It’s a whole change in lifestyle. I feel a lot more balanced. My energy is much steadier. I feel stronger and more confident.' She’s not comparing herself to other mums, though. Everyone’s got arm flab or saggy boobs,’ she said. ‘And it’s OK, because the things women can do with their bodies are amazing.'

Jessica Simpson

Mum-of-two Jessica and Weight Watchers spokesperson recently shared two pictures of her amazing post-pregnancy figure on Instagram, writing, ‘If I'm in a bathing suit I should pose proudly…’ She spoke to Good Morning America in February, saying of her first pregnancy, ‘I was so insecure -I couldn't even believe what I weighed.’ But she has everything in perspective. ‘You are creating a life, and honestly, it's not easy. It is a really hard thing to go through. And you deserve to eat your ice cream. You deserve to have your pancakes. Do whatever you want to do and then afterwards just know that you have to work really hard,’ she added.

Alesha Dixon

Britains' Got Talent judge Alesha has a very busy lifestyle and she revealed to OK! Magazine that it's hard to fit in an exercise regime. ‘Since having Azura I haven’t been able to exercise as much as I’d like, but I just try to make it my lifestyle,' she said.□‘You have a clearer head and it energises you the more you do. I did a lot of swimming when I was pregnant and, prior to that, I did a lot of running and body conditioning with a personal trainer.’

And…Billie Faiers

The TOWIE star only gave birth a few weeks ago, and judging by her latest Instagram snap, she’s already snapped back into her pre-baby figure. Yep, we have no idea how she managed that either…

Kim Kardashian

Ok, this celeb reportedly has hired her own selfie editor, so she is about as far removed from a normal mum as it gets, but the reality star reportedly got her figure back with a gruelling fitness regime, including beginning the day with 100 squats (plus having your own private chef sure helps). When discussing losing the 50lbs she put on during pregnancy, Kim told Jay Leno, ‘I can honestly say it was the greatest challenge of my life.'
