Eva Mendes Talks First Time Motherhood And Baby Esmeralda On The Ellen DeGeneres Show

Section: Celebrity Mums

Actress Eva Mendes has kept a very low profile ever since the birth of her first child with Ryan Gosling over two months ago – but the star has finally opened up about motherhood and her baby daughter Esmeralda on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today

Looking svelte in a striking red dress, the 40-year-old actress, who gave birth to Esmeralda in September, revealed her exhaustion at being a first-time mum.

‘She’s two months! You know we’re getting the hang of it, the sleeping thing, but yeah I’m exhausted and it’s the best.’

The Place Beyond The Pines actress also credited breastfeeding for shrinking back to her svelte figure.

‘It really does help to shrink your uterus back to normal size. It does! I know it’s a really weird thing to say, but it does,’ she said.

Eva added, ‘So breast-feeding is really helping and then obviously you want to be healthy for the baby because she’s eating kind of what I’m eating so you want to make good choices.’

The Hollywood star also spoke about her and Ryan’s decision to try and keep the pregnancy a secret for as long as possible, to give baby Esmeralda the best chance of privacy as she entered into the world.

‘I think just early on, we decided it’s going to be very hard for her to have privacy.

'And we thought this is the first opportunity we can give her to protect her and so then I had a nice calm pregnancy, which I did.’

We can’t wait to see a picture of this little one – she’s going to be one gorgeous bub!
