Jennifer Love Hewitt: ‘Covering Up My Pregnancy In The Early Days Was Really Difficult’

Section: Celebrity Mums

Hollywood actress Jennifer Love Hewitt has admitted struggling to keep her pregnancy under wraps while filming for her TV series The Client List last spring.

The star, 35, made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week to talk about how she managed to cope with covering up her growing baby bump in the weeks before telling everyone she was pregnant.

‘I couldn't move,’ she laughed.

‘I was already pregnant and I couldn’t tell anybody. So, the wardrobe… they put me in this dress and I had to be just like, “Oh awesome. This looks great.” And [my boobs] were like up here and I came out and all I saw was your face. They grew first in the pregnancy.’

Jennifer, who gave birth to little Autumn in November – five days after marrying co-star and long-term partner Brian Hallisay – said her four-month-old is actually starting to show some early promise as a dancer.

‘I’ve always wanted to be a mom because I want to pass on all of the magical gifts my mom gave me’

She told Ellen, ‘The second your show comes on and you start dancing she does this weird kick thing with her leg and she gets her little chair. She loves it. I think she’s gonna be a dancer, I really do.’

Sadly, Jennifer’s introduction to motherhood was tinged with a bittersweet sadness because her own mum passed away almost two years ago.

‘She was my best friend,’ Jennifer said in an earlier interview.

‘I’ve always wanted to be a mom because I want to give a kid all of the magical gifts my mom gave to me, such as love and friendship. She and I had this incredible connection that was so unbelievable. I honestly feel that this happening was a gift from her to me.’
