M&B columnist Rebecca Adlington welcomes baby girl!

We’ve followed her progress month by month in the magazine, now at last Becky and Harry’s honeymoon baby is here!

Mother&Baby’s own Rebecca Adlington OBE has given birth to her first child with husband Harry Needs, a daughter who arrived safely on Monday, four days after her due date.

The Olympian couldn’t wait to share the good news, taking to her Twitter page to write: ‘@harryneeds and I are over the moon as we welcomed our beautiful baby girl this morning. She's doing well and we're so in love!!!’

Doting dad Harry added his own post: ‘Thank you @BeckAdlington for making me the happiest man on this earth #daddysgirl

The 26-year-old swimming champ has been sharing details of her pregnancy, including diet and fitness, in M&B magazine each month.

Becky and Harry, who’s also a swimmer, got married in September 2014. Becky recently told Hello!: ‘The due date is June 4 so, yes, we must have conceived on the first day of our honeymoon in Venice.’

The blissed-out new parents have yet to announce their daughter’s name, and it’s not known if she arrived via the water birth the couple had been hoping for, with Becky admitting: ‘It's better for me to be relaxed. Plus I'm used to being in water. The one thing I've said is, Harry's not coming in the pool with me - it's my space.’

Talking to the Sunday Mirror as her due date approached, Becky revealed that she was looking forward to getting her pre-baby fitness back: ‘I'm over it. I don't want her to arrive yet because it's not time, but it's dragged a lot. I want to get back in shape and feel like myself again.’

Baby will be coming home to a fully-stocked nursery. A wardrobe of tiny outfits? Yes. But also, as Becky let slip recently: “her first swimming costume. How cute is that? We can’t wait to get her in the swimming pool!”
