‘My Babies Are A Touchy Subject’: Lily Allen Hits Back At Katie Hopkins After Pregnancy Weight Comments

Smile singer Lily Allen takes to Twitter after Katie Hopkins lets loose about her weight and career

Ah, Lily Allen, we salute you. After finding out about a Katie Hopkins rant targeted at her, the 28-year-old singer took to social media to respond.

In a video for heatworld, the outspoken (erm, understatement) Katie was asked what she thought of a host of famous faces, including Lily.

‘I quite liked her when she was singing and interesting, and then she went off to tell us all about being a mother,’ she said.

‘She was removing herself from the spotlight because she wanted to be a mother, and that largely involved, I think, gaining two stone and looking pretty hideous.’

Katie then added that she reckoned Lily’s only famous because of her well-know dad, comedian and actor Keith Allen.

OK, then. Needless to say, Lily hit back with a series of tweets, including…

‘Yes, after tragically losing a child so late into my pregnancy I may have gained a few pounds, I am one of many that find comfort in food’

‘I wasn’t exercising because I didn’t want to take any risks, and funnily enough, the survival of my children felt more important than being thin’

‘Oh, and whilst “weighing me up”, Fat shaming, you were a stone out, I gained 3 not 2. And hey, look I’m on the cover of Elle this month!’

The singer has since deleted the tweets, saying, ‘Sorry about that, but my babies are a touchy subject and I gave her exactly what she wanted by responding. I am now going to delete it all.’

But she left one nice last cracking shot – in the form of a gorgeous Instagram photo of herself captioned, ‘Just going to the shop, want anything Katie?’

Enough said.
