New Dad Simon Cowell On How Baby Eric Has Changed His Life

Section: Celebrity Mums

Media mogul Simon Cowell’s life has changed dramatically over the past year and it’s clear the long-time bachelor couldn’t be happier.

Speaking to Hello! Magazine at the Shooting Star Chase charity annual gala event, a charity that Simon Cowell has supported for many years, the X Factor judge revealed that the unexpected arrival of Baby Eric with partner Lauren Silverman was a blessing as he may never have had children.
‘I guess I was always nervous I may not end up getting on particularly well with the person I was going to have a kid with and I didn’t want to make the wrong decision’, he admits.
Despite turning 55 this year, Simon admits that it is probably the best time for him to become a father, something he never really envisioned for himself.

‘I’m probably a far better Dad now than I would have been 10 years ago… And at the end of the day, we have really great nannies.’

Simon has revealed in the past that he happily changes nappies, but admits that he isn’t exactly a hands-on Dad.
‘I want to fast-forward a few years so I can take him go-karting, then introduce him to women. There are a few years to go yet,’ he said.

In fact, he already has a future partner in mind for his son, in the form of long-time friend Terri’s soon-to-be-born daughter – and he’s ‘deadly serious’ about it.

But, knowing that his son is going to be one of the world’s most eligible bachelors in the future, he knows ‘he’s going to have a lot of options.’
