Holly Willoughby: ‘I Really Like Giving Birth’

The TV presenter’s currently in her third trimester and is looking forward to the best of baby number three. A lot.

Childbirth isn’t everyone’s favourite experience, but Holly Willoughby says she’s a fan. ‘I actually really like giving birth,’ Holly told The Times Weekend magazine. ‘I know, I’m a weirdo but I really like it. Knowing you’re about to meet your baby, it’s just a really lovely time. It’s the best day ever.’

The This Morning co-presenter admits that now she’s seven months pregnant it’s time to take it easy and wait for the arrival of her baby.

‘I’m in that third trimester, so I’m beginning to slow down,’ she said. ‘Your body can’t quite do as much as you want it to do. By the end of the day I’m definitely ready for bed. I can’t wait to just wallow at home, like a big hippo.’

'This is probably the last baby I’m going to have. Belle starts school next September and I think it’s an important time for my family'

Holly and her husband, producer Dan Baldwin, have chosen not to find out whether they’re expecting a boy or girl. The couple is already parents to one of each – Harry, five, and Belle, three – and previously Holly said, ‘hand on heart, I really don’t mind if I have a boy or girl.’

While Holly was back at work just five weeks after Harry was born, she admits that things will be different after this baby’s birth. ‘I’m taking quite a long time off – a year, I think,’ said Holly. ‘This is probably the last baby I’m going to have. Belle starts school next September and I think it’s an important time for my family.’ But don’t worry Holly Willoughby fans – the mum-of-two assures us she’ll be popping up on TV doing some one-off shows.

And while we’ll be said to say goodbye (possibly forever) to Holly’s maternity style, we can’t wait to meet her new arrival.
