The Good Wife and Home & Away star is expecting her second child with long-term boyfriend Jean-David Blanc.
Just 16 months after welcoming son Raphaël, Australian actress Melissa George is pregnant with her second baby.
Melissa has previously spoken of her desire to have a big family. When Raphaël was born in February 2014, she tweeted about her joy, writing: “Welcome to the world! Our beautiful son just born at the American hospital of Paris. There are no words to describe the love.”
Melissa, 38, met French entrepreneur Jean-David at the BAFTA after-show party in 2011. The Alias and Grey’s Anatomy star was previously married to film director Claudio Dabed, but the union broke down amid reports that the couple had differing views on having children.
Talking about her first pregnancy, Melissa told OK! Magazine that this was a dream come true. “This baby is very wanted and very much what we've been waiting for,” she said.
Melissa added: “It's no secret that I've always wanted to be a mother, and every time I had a birthday I would just be a little bit sad. You don't mind clicking over another number when you've got something inside you, growing, that you've always dreamed about.”
Now that baby number two is on the way, LA-based Melissa must be hoping for a healthy and happy pregnancy. First time around she experienced morning sickness, letting slip that she felt “nauseous pretty much all day, but nothing major; just tired. It's just amazing how hungry you are. I've been craving Mexican food.”
Hollywood studio NBC broke the happy news, as Melissa’s pregnancy means her new TV show, hospital drama Heartbreaker in which she stars as a heart surgeon, will now be delayed. Due to premiere in the autumn, it will hit screens in 2016.
