Lara Stone Found Pregnancy Changes ‘Frightening’

Not afraid of speaking up about her parenting experiences and views, Lara Stone admits that she found the changes her body went through ‘quite shocking’

As a supermodel, Lara Stones’ entire career success is reliant on her body. So you can see why the 30-year-old struggled to accept her new shape when she got pregnant with her first child with husband David Walliams.

Lara, speaking to the Sunday Times Style magazine, says she had to stop modelling quite early on in her pregnancy as she was wearing maternity jeans by the 10-week mark.

'It was quite frightening seeing my body change so much'

‘Being pregnancy affected my work quite early on,’ says Lara. ‘It’s not like you can work until you’re eight months pregnant. It was quite frightening seeing my body change so much.

‘Yes, I did worry about the impact, because my body is my job and my livelihood. Also, I like working and I don’t like sitting around at home, so I really wanted to get back into things,’ she continues.

After her son Alfred’s birth 14 months ago, Lara took a year off to look after him before returning to the world of modelling as the face as L'Oréal.

‘It's nice once the baby's here, but then I was like, "I really want to do something again",’ the mum-of-one admits.

But her return to work wasn’t all that straightforward. Speaking to Porter magazine after her baby’s birth, Lara said, ‘I’ve had a few meetings because when they hear pregnancy they freak out a bit, so they need to see if I fit in their clothes.’
