New Mum Emily Blunt Reveals Tom Cruise ‘Protected’ Her When She Was Pregnant

The British actress, who’s recently given birth to her first child, admits that Tom Cruise acted as her white knight while filming their new movie

It’s not everyday that a girl can say she’s been taken care of by Tom Cruise. But Emily Blunt can. The new mum told the world of her co-star’s protective nature during an interview with chat show host Graham Norton last night.

The actress, who is currently promoting her new film Edge Of Tomorrow that she filmed while pregnant last year, admitted that her co-star (and Hollywood legend) Tom Cruise ‘protected’ her throughout filming. Swoon.

'He almost went overboard in helping me. In the end I had to say, “Tom. I’m fine, I can do stairs!”

‘For some additional photography I was pregnant but it was still early and I wasn’t really telling anyone,’ Emily admitted. ‘So Tom was confused as to why I wasn’t engaging with all the stunts, as I was game when we did them originally.

‘So I told him I was growing a human.  He was so cute about it and protected me – he almost went overboard in helping me. In the end I had to say, “Tom. I’m fine, I can do stairs!”’

Tom, 51, is no stranger to pregnancy and parenthood. He adopted two children with first wife Nicole Kidman and had his first biological child, Suri, eight, with Katie Holmes.

While Emily, 31, is brand new to motherhood having only welcomed her daughter Hazel in February. But the Devil Wears Prada actress appears to be loving being a mum and recently opened up about breastfeeding and choosing her daughter’s name.
