Prince William Travels to Malta - And Gives Update on Wife Kate’s Condition

The Duke of Cambridge was a last minute replacement for Kate on a two-day tour of Malta, after she was forced to pull out due to the pregnancy condition Hyperemesis Gravidarum.

The Prince is representing the Queen in Malta, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary of independence from Great Britain.

Prince William spoke with the Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and his wife Michelle at the Auberge de Castille in Valetta, during the visit.

‘I’m very excited to be here… I’m sorry you’ve got me instead of Catherine,’ he joked.


When asked how his wife was he said, 'She's so-so.
 
‘She's very disappointed she couldn't be here today.'

It’s not the first time Kate has had to pull out of a public engagement because of the condition and the Duchess also had to pull out of the opening of the Invictus Games earlier this month.
