Sam Bailey Sells Baby Shower Photos To Raise Money For Charity

The pregnant X Factor winner is putting her fame to good use and using cash raised from the sale of her baby shower pics to help disabled children

Rather than sharing photos of her baby shower on Twitter or Instagram, Sam Bailey has decided to sell them to raise money for a cause close to her heart.

The former X Factor winner is planning on donating the money she receives for them to friend, and former prison guard colleague, Leanne Blakey-Tew. Leanne has two children, Mia, four, and Cory, two, who suffer from a rare condition, known as RARS two mutation mitochondrial epilepsy PCH type six.

'Leanne and her husband have two disabled children and I want to get some money to help them out,' Sam told the Leicester Mercury. 'I'm not doing the whole 'Hello' thing with exclusive pictures, but I hope someone will be interested enough to buy the photographs so I can give the money to Leanne. She is totally committed to her kids and this is the least I can do to help.'

And Leanne is incredibly grateful for Sam's support. 'When Sam told me what she is going to do I nearly cried,' said Leanne. 'It shows how down-to-earth Sam is, even though she is now a big star. It is a lovely gesture.'

The singer celebrated her shower this weekend at The City Rooms in Leicester and tweeted her thanks to her friends who organised it.

‘Massive thanks to @laurapearson198 and @thereal_chopper for organising my baby shower! Best sisters a girl could wish for xxx,’ Sam wrote.

Sam’s currently on maternity leave as her third baby with husband Craig is thought to be due in a matter of weeks. Last weekend, she performed for the last time before her baby girl arrives.
