Sharon Osbourne Set To Be Godmother To Pregnant Sam Bailey’s Baby

In true celeb style, Sam Bailey is set to make her X-Factor mentor Sharon Osbourne godmother to her baby, which is due in September.

Speaking on ITV’s Daybreak this morning, mum-to-be Sam Bailey has revealed that Sharon Osbourne has agreed to be her baby’s godmother – via Twitter of course.

The radiant X-Factor winner explained just why she wanted Sharon for the role.

‘I said in an interview I'd love her to be godmother but I didn't want her to think I was asking for the wrong reasons,’ says Sam

‘She's the one who accepted me at the beginning, supported me the whole way through – I wouldn't be where I am now if it hadn't been for her decision to keep me. She has a lot to answer for.’

In response, the showbiz queen (and mum of three) took to Twitter to accept, tweeting,

Celebs making their fellow celebs godparents is no new thing of course, with Bono being godfather to the Jolie-Pitt twins, Eva Longoria godmother to Harper Beckham, and it’s even rumoured that Oprah Winfrey is Blue Ivy’s godmother – jealous much?

We can’t think of a cooler godmother for Sam’s little one on the way – and with Mother’s Day just around the corner, it’s great timing, too
