Una Foden Expecting A Baby Boy

The pregnant Saturdays singer Una Foden and her rugby player husband Ben Foden have announced that they are expecting a baby boy.

Revealing the news in this week’s Hello! magazine, Una admitted that when she first found out the news she was ‘a little taken aback’. This pregnancy is so similar to her last, she was convinced she was carrying another girl.

‘I’m used to girls,’ Una said. ‘I have one sister, I went to an all-girls’ school. I’m surrounded by girls in the band and I have Aoife, so I was a little taken aback when we found out we were going to have a son. But now I am over the moon and can’t wait to meet our little boy.’

Husband Ben, however, predicted that their latest arrival would be a boy, long before their 20-week scan. ‘Because we have a little girl, I was really hoping for a son,’ he said. ‘The feeling he was a son was so strong all along.'

The couple announced their pregnancy with a cute Instagram photo of Aoife, two, in a T-shirt with the words, ‘I’m going to be a big sister.’

‘She’s obsessed with other children and she is really sweet and gentle around babies so I think she’ll be great when he comes,’ Ben said.

Una revealed she is sailing through her pregnancy, just like with Aoife, but has found her cravings to be slightly different this time. ‘With Aoife, I was mad for chocolate, but this time round, I’m more for savoury stuff and spicy foods. And pickles. I’m loving pickles,’ she said.

With Ben back on form after an injury to his right ankle and Una busy with The Saturdays, as well as becoming a mentor on The Voice of Ireland and presenting Una’s Dream Ticket, it’s clear it’s going to be a busy time for the pair.

Will two little ones be it for the couple? ‘Now that we’ll have a girl and a boy, maybe we’ll decide that’s enough. We’ll have to wait and see,’ Ben said.

‘But if we do have a third, we’ve always said we’d do it quickly… So watch this space,’ Una added.
