X-tra Prepared: Simon Cowell Is Ready For His Baby’s Arrival

The music mogul is leaving nothing to chance with the birth of his first child – reportedly due to arrive in February

Since news broke in July that Simon Cowell’s going to be a dad, the X Factor judge has openly spoken of his excitement at welcoming his baby into the world – and it would seem that he’s all ready for his son’s arrival.

The MailOnline has revealed that the baby will be born on February 28, and the dad-to-be, 54, has already booked the hospital where his girlfriend Lauren Silverman, 36, will give birth.

The hospital is reportedly in New York City, where the couple live, and is close enough for Lauren’s mum Carole Sandland, who lives in Florida, to come and lend a helping hand in those first weeks with baby Cowell/Silverman.

And we hazard a guess that the hospital is one of Manhatten’s finest – nothing is too good for Simon’s firstborn.

Simon’s had some bad press recently after a photo emerged of him smoking next to his pregnant partner, resulting in Action on Smoking and Health to release a warning of the danger of passive smoke to pregnant women.

Simon responded, reports the MailOnline, saying, ‘There are a lot of boring things that happen when you have a baby.[You have to get rid of] sharp edges, cigarettes, alcohol … then there's [baby-proofing] the toilet. But I'll have a smoking room!'

His Britain’s Got Talent co-judge Amanda Holden has no doubt that he’ll be a fantastic dad, saying, ‘I honestly think he’s going to be amazing. He’s brilliant with children.’
