Zoe Saldana Finally Admits Pregnancy (To Skip The Ice Bucket Challenge)

Although the growing bump gave her away, it’s taken the ice bucket challenge for actress Zoe Saldana to publicly acknowledge her pregnancy

You have to been hiding under a rock to miss the latest charity social media trend – the ice bucket challenge – where you video yourself throwing a bucket of iced water over your head and then nominate other people to do the same and donate to charity.

So when Zoe Saldana, 36, was nominated to do the challenge, it meant she finally admitted that she was pregnant – something that most people had already cottoned onto thanks to her burgeoning baby bump – but which she hadn’t officially acknowledged.

Standing alongside her husband, Marco Perego, in front of a swimming pool, the Guardians Of The Galaxy star said,

‘Hi everybody, I’m Zoe Saldana. I’m taking on James Gunn’s challenge to take on the ice bucket challenge in support of finding a cure for ALS.’

She then turned to the side and rubbed her bump, saying,

‘Obviously I can’t do it myself, so I nominate my husband to take on the challenge and get rinsed with a nice bucket of ice water.’

After nominating four more people to take up the challenge – including director James Cameron and actress Salma Hayek – a large bucket of cold water was chucked over her husband, which caused him to jump up screaming, before leaping in the pool.

The Ice Bucket Challenge started – much like the no make-up selfie picture craze earlier this year – as a way of raising money for charity. In this case, it’s the ALS Association, a US charity for research into motor neurone disease.

Other famous celebrity parents who have taken on the Ice Bucket Challenge include David Beckham, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck (with help from wife Jennifer Garner). And because we're feeling generous today, we thought we'd show you the video of a shirtless David Beckham being soaked (any excuse)...
