Prince George Has His First Official Playdate On Royal Tour

Section: Celebrity Mums

Prince George spent time playing with other babies his age during an event at Government House as part of the royal tour

He already charmed everyone when he touched down at Wellington airport on Monday, and now Prince George has made his first official appearance at a playgroup event.

Prince William and Kate attended an official event with other parents, all with babies who were born within 10 weeks of George’s birth on 22 July 2013.

George looked healthy and happy as he crawled around the room, interacting with other babies and exploring all the different toys.

George was dressed in cute navy blue dungarees by baby clothing designer Rachel Riley, as well as soft-soled shoes.

Kate and Will are clearly naturals as parents, with Kate protectively bobbing him up and down on her hip as she chatted to other parents. And we couldn’t help but empathise as George took swipes at her hair to try and pull it.

Other parents at the event were also thrilled to meet the little Prince. Ryan Tunstall, dad to Isabella, said, ‘Isabella and George had a lot of fun on the drums. It was a pleasure sharing our beautiful baby with the duke and duchess. The whole thing was a wonderful highlight.’

Grant Collins and Magda Gurbowicz met the royals with baby Lucas. Grant said: ‘We found out Lucas had more teeth than George so he's winning that race!

‘George has got about four or five teeth coming through. Lucas has got his seventh coming on. We chatted to the Duke first and asked about how they and George coped with the jet-lag. William said sleeping and distracting (the baby) was the best thing to get over jet-lag and that's what they'd done with George.’
