Prince George Makes A Splash (But Is He An Olympian In The Making?)

Section: Celebrity Mums

The Duchess of Cambridge has revealed the Royal baby enjoys splashing about in the swimming pool

Like many babies his age, it turns out Prince George is a fan of splashing about in water.

Former Olympic swimmer, James Hickman, spoke to Kate during a swimming event at the Commonwealth games last night and asked her if she’d taken her son swimming yet.

‘She told me she's been swimming with him,’ says James. ‘She said he loves the water and he grabs things to splash with.

‘So, maybe he could be the next royal to take part in the Olympics and if he was in swimming that would be incredible.’

It’s thought the Duchess of Cambridge is taking Prince George swimming at the pool at Buckingham Palace every week.

At a recent British Sub-Aqua Club event, Prince William revealed how George loves splashing around and that bath time has become ‘quite painful’.

And if the little Prince does end up being a pro at swimming, and makes it to the Olympics, he’ll be in good royal company. His father’s cousin, is Zara Philips – a silver medallist in eventing at London 2012, while his great aunt is Princess Anne, who was the first member of the royal family to compete in the Olympics.

Does your little one enjoy splashing about in the bath or at the swimming pool? Let us know in the comment box below.
