Shakira gives birth to baby boy

Singer Shakira has given birth to her second son with husband Gerard Pique - and he’s destined to be a footballer

Here’s the first photo of little Sasha, released on the UNICEF World Baby Shower website by Shakira and Gerard.

Shakira has also shared a photo of her new baby boy’s tiny foot, suggesting he’s going to follow in his daddy’s footballing footsteps, with the caption on Instagram reading: “I have Daddy’s feet, it looks like I’ve been playing football my whole life” -  just like his older brother Milan

Shakira confirmed the wonderful news of Sasha’s birth on her website, with the statement:

“We are happy to announce the birth of Sasha Piqué Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Piqué, born January 29 at 9:54pm, in Barcelona.

“The name Sasha is of Greek and Russian descent and means ‘defender of mankind’ and ‘warrior’.”

Their baby boy was welcomed by a planned C-section.

Only last week Shakira and Gerard were supporting their ‘World Baby Shower’ in aid of UNICEF.
