In his first interview since the birth of baby Eric, Simon Cowell opens up about fatherhood. Aww…
In his first interview since becoming a father, Simon Cowell revealed to his former flame Terri Seymour on the US chat show Extra that he ‘was born to be a dad’ but was worried that he’d love his two dogs more.
The 54-year-old X-Factor judge became a Dad for the first time when girlfriend Lauren Silverman gave birth to baby Eric on February 14 in New York City.
Despite his love for his two Yorkshire Terriers, Squiddly and Diddly (yes, really!), Simon has surprisingly showed his softer side since his first child’s arrival.
Taking to Terri, Simon said, ‘I actually said to Lauren beforehand, "What if I like the dogs more than him?" and she said, "You're gonna be absolutely fine," and then literally within seconds of him being born, I got it!'
Being probed by his ex, the music mogul confessed that he was reduced to tears when he laid eyes on his son for the first time – and he hasn't dismissed the idea of a little brother or sister for baby Eric just yet either, saying, 'I wouldn't rule out [more children]’
‘I got Squiddly and Diddly, and I couldn't imagine Squiddly or just Diddly,’ he added. ‘I had a brother when I was younger, so I kind of think it's cool to have two or three... two.'
But the doting Dad wasn’t always so big on kids. Before baby Eric was born the X Factor boss admitted, ‘I'm not brilliant with babies. I never know what to do! But [once he's older] I think I'll be a good dad in terms of advice. ’
