Tom Fletcher: ‘Being A Dad Is Very Similar To Being In A Band’

Section: Celebrity Mums

Like any new parent, McFly singer Tom Fletcher is finding having a newborn doesn’t leave much time free

Tom Fletcher is new to fatherhood. He and his wife Giovanna only welcomed their first baby into the world a few weeks ago and the McFly singer has hinted that it’s been a bit of a whirlwind with a candid tweet.

The new dad took to Twitter this afternoon to share his experience of parenthood, comparing being a dad to being in a band. And we can see where he’s coming from.

Tom revealed that his dad duties haven’t left much time to take care of himself, writing, ‘Not showered, not shaved, not slept, surviving on fried foods and cake...being a dad is VERY similar to being in a band.’

But while Tom may not have had time to spruce himself up, fortunately for fans he has managed to put together an incredible time lapse video of his journey into parenthood, which he posted online last week. If you haven’t yet watched it, we definitely recommend you check it out here.

Tom isn’t the only celebrity dad to admit his wellbeing comes second to his child’s. Actor Channing Tatum says he’s ‘fappy’ (fat and happy) since being a father, suggesting that time spent with his baby is more important to him than hitting up the gym.

Did your partner’s priorities shift once he became a dad? Let us know in the comments box below.
