The baby girl who starred as Mary in the hit 1987 film was played by a set identical twins who are now 27 (!) and embracing motherhood themselves
As well as being a classic 80s film and family favourite (hands up who’s watched it recently?) Three Men & A Little Baby turned the little baby who starred in it into stars. Except, it wasn’t one baby – it was a set of twins called Lisa and Michelle.
The film was released in 1987 and the girls are now 27, with one of them married with a five-month-old baby who is said to look exactly like her mother did in the promotional poster for the film.
The women have spoken about their experiences on the Today Show.
‘When we were little, it wasn't a big deal to us at all,’ explained Michelle, who now works in insurance. ‘I think it was when we became teenagers and people started coming up to us a lot more.’
Their mother, Geriann, also appeared on the show with them and revealed how they first got cast in the film.
‘I was just bored at home on [maternity] leave and I heard about this casting call,' she said. ‘I thought it was just a scene in a movie, I had no idea it was a big major motion production.’
But then a few weeks later, Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy, who directed the comedy, called her saying he wanted the girls to appear in the film. It went on to become the highest-grossing movie of 1987.
Geriann also revealed how one of the twins, Michelle, had an accident while actor Tom Selleck was holding her. ‘He looked over at me and said, “Is this safe?” and I said, “Oh, I don't know.” And then, there she goes, sure enough! So that was a real shock.’
Peeing on Tom Selleck – what a claim to fame!
