Woman Gives Birth In GP Surgery After Complaining Of Stomach Pain

One woman got the surprise of her life on a visit to the GP surgery with a suspected kidney infection – she left as a mum to a baby girl.

Clare Evans, a 24-year-old from Newport, rang the NHS helpline after experiencing stomach pain and was advised to go to her local surgery for a check-up.
Suspecting a kidney infection, the first time mum’s waters broke in the GP surgery, much to her shock, before giving birth to a 6lb 12oz baby girl Erin Louise Roberts.

Speaking to the BBC, she said, ‘I was so shocked, I told them that I didn't know I was pregnant.

‘I had no signs of pregnancy, I didn't have any morning sickness and I didn't have a bump.

‘It was a surprise but I can't find words to say just how thrilled I am.

‘I love motherhood, even though it was completely unexpected I wouldn't change it for the world.’
