In a survey polling 1,662 Mumsnet users, 64 per cent of mums admitted their baby’s birth was the most painful experience of their lives, 47 per cent polled said they enjoyed the experience and 64 per cent said that the pain was ‘just one of those contradictions of birth.’

Under half of those polled confessed they would do it differently the next time or not give birth again.
