Olympic gold medallist Jessica Ennis-Hill has a bigger reason than most to make sure she is staying in tip top shape during pregnancy – and she has revealed how yoga is helping her do it.
The 28-year-old mum-to-be spoke about keeping fit and healthy at the official opening of a new yoga centre in Sheffield recently.
‘I’ve been coming with a friend for the last couple of years,’ she told The Star.
‘Nicola [her yoga instructor] does pregnancy yoga so we’ve changed what we do compared to before.
‘We learn really good breathing techniques and exercises and it’s a great way to have a stretch.’
‘Yoga has been really good for me training-wise…It helps me keep some level of fitness up through my pregnancy and also in the run-up to major championships,’ she added.
Jessica is missing out on the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this summer, however she’ planning to be back in action at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, to defend her title as a competitive mum.
