Seeing an ultrasound scan of your baby plays a big role in how your partner feels about your pregnancy
Seeing that 12-week scan image of your baby is one of the most exciting parts of pregnancy – and it’s key for your partner, too.
That moment is really powerful for dads-to-be and can increase how you all connect and develop as a family, according to new research.

It also makes him think about the future and his role in yours and your baby’s lives, with a note in the study saying that a man’s ‘plans and dreams alike extended beyond the immediate future of infancy and across the child's lifespan.’
One dad-to-be told the US team how he felt on hearing his baby’s heartbeat.
‘My heart started beating faster just to hear a life – boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. It just felt like – the feeling's indescribable.
‘I was just blown away, like my eyes filled up but it's like I won't cry, I just be so happy to hear it.... The heartbeat is like letting me know it's on the way, get ready.’
