10 Of The Best Baby Shower Games

Section:Baby showers

Baby showers were once a thing enjoyed only across the pond but they're becoming more and more popular in the UK too. Make sure the mum-to-be and all her guests have a great time by adding a few of these game ideas to the party schedule. For prizes, think about shopping vouchers, baby-themed sweet treats and beauty gifts. Let us know in the comments section below if you've got a suggestion to add!

Mum's the word - or should that be baby?

Test your guests by banning the word 'baby' from the shower, beginning the moment they walk in the door. Every time someone mistakenly says baby (believe us, it will happen a LOT) have them do a forfeit or make them put money into the baby's collection tin. Image from Getty.

Sing it, baby

This is great for a quick ice breaker at the start of the shower to encourage a fun atmosphere. Give every guest a pen and sheet of paper, and pop five minutes on the timer. Everyone has to write down as many song titles that include the word 'baby' in the time allowed and the person with the most correct answers (have Google at the ready!) wins. Image from Getty.

Bottle races

Give every guest a baby bottle filled with a cocktail, or mocktail if that's more their thing, and all start drinking at the same time. The person who finishes the entire bottle first wins a prize. Image from Getty.

Everyone hates a feeder

Split guests into teams of two, have them cover their clothes with an apron or bin bag and give them blindfolds to wear. One member of the pair then should feed a pot of baby food or apple sauce to their partner. The first pair to successfully empty the pot (into their mouth, not just down their front!) wins. Do I look young in this?

Raid the family albums of the mum-to-be for photos of her at all different ages and dislay them all around the room. The guests have to guess how old mum-to-be is in each of the pictures and the person who clocks up the most correct guesses, wins. Image from Getty.

Guess the celebrity baby

How good is your knowledge of famous faces? Put it to the test in this game by printing pictures of celebrity children without their famous parents and have guests guess the baby. If you're slightly more tech-friendly, create a slideshow of pictures on a computer and save the paper. Image from Getty.

Pass the puree

Would you feed your baby something you wouldn't eat yourself? Of course not, and this game will put that theory to the test! Buy a selection of baby food jars and pull the labels off so they all look the same, making a note of what is in each jar. Have all the guests taste each flavour to guess what the main ingredients are, and see if the foodies win out. Image from Getty.

Guess the chubby cheeks

Ask each guest to send you a picture of themselves as a baby and display them around the room. The winner is the person who can correctly pair the adult guests with their kiddy photos. Image from Getty.

A freezing shower

Pregnancy is a waiting game so get everyone involved by freezing mini baby figurines in ice cubes and add them to the glass of each guest. Each of you should keep an eye on your ice cube, and the first to spot that theirs has melted (remembering to announce your water has broken!) wins a prize. Image from Getty.

Hello dolly

The mums of the group should have a slight advantage on this one, but it's still anyone's game. Blindfold all the guests and have them stand in a line with a doll in front of each of them. The task is to take the doll's nappy off, replace with a new nappy and pull on a babygro - all with no sight! Image from Getty.
