A 3D Baby Model: The Ultimate Pregnancy Scan Memento?

A US company now offers a new spin on marking your pregnancy – with a life-size figurine of your growing baby

Forget a framed scan pic on your desk. The latest pregnancy memento is all about a 3D model of your baby.

That’s the idea behind new US company 3D Babies, anyway, which says it can ‘create an adorable baby figurine resembling your baby's facial features and body position’ using an ultrasound picture, computer graphics and 3D printing technology.

Prices start at $200 for a small figurine, while a life-size model is $600. And get this – the site claims Kardashian fans can even buy a recreation of Kim and Kanye West’s daughter North for $250.

While you can buy the models now, the team behind the company has also started a Crowdfunding page – where people donate money to support a project – to buy more kit, and hopefully lower the prices for customers.

But they’re yet to hit their target.

While we’re all for celebrating pregnancy and the arrival of your newborn, is this perhaps a bit OTT?

We’d love to know what you think – let us know below!
