The Britax Max-Fix is an attractive, easy-to-fit car seat. The instruction manual plus photo-guide are clear and helpful. The seat has an ISOFIX attachment with a ‘click system’ that offers extra confidence in terms of fitting the seat correctly. It’s a smaller seat (lightweight and easily transferable) and should last from birth until 4 years (18kg) although its size seems makes this specification somewhat dubious.
The seat is nicely padded and comfortable. It reclines well but sits quite low in the car, which might frustrate children who like being able to see out the window. The harness adjusts without hassle but the straps don’t seem to retract as easily as they perhaps should. The option of fitting the seat with either a seatbelt or tether is useful.
The build quality of the seat is good and it has extended rear-facing functionality. However, it is expensive but for its modernity, safety, security and ease of use, well worth the spend.
