We say: An impact shield – which reduces force on a child in the event of a collision – replaces the standard five-point harness, so this is good if you’re not a fan of battling with buckles. The safety features are impressive, and the height of the headrest can be adjusted with one hand. It’s stylish and comes in four colours.

Tested by mum Holly and Toby, 9 months:

This is straight forward to install – I like the ISOFIX clips, and found them easy to use. Toby seems very happy and comfortable in this seat – his head doesn’t drop forwards when nap time coincides with being in the car. It’s easy to get him in and out of the seat without a struggle, but it doesn’t look as stylish as some of the others tested.

Tested by mum Sarah and Gabriel, 19 months:

This is simple to adjust to fit different children, and it’s light enough to move easily between vehicles. It’s also easy to install, and securing the vehicle seat belt over the impact shield is quick – I like that there’s no wrestling wriggly arms into a harness or hunting for the buckle. I prefer a standard harness, though, as I feel it’s more secure.

Tested by mum Amy and Scarlett, 3 years:

I really love the look of this seat. I was a bit sceptical about whether it would be adequate to keep an adventurous three-year-old safely in place, but I was pleasantly surprised. It kept her safely restrained and seemed really comfortable too. It was easy to install, so this gets a big thumbs up from us. Scarlett particularly likes the cup holder.
