Lansinoh Manual Breast Pump review

Laura: I would recommend the Lansinoh manual breast pump to anyone who not only wants to express at home but also has a need to express on the go. The pump is compact and light, meaning it is easy to transport/carry in a changing bag. The fit to the breast I found to be very comfortable in comparison to other pumps I tried which meant expressing was a better experience using this pump.

Hannah: I would recommend this product. It is small but still holds enough milk to make it practical. It is easy to use, easy to clean and doesn't hurt. The only downside is the breast cushions don't change size which is necessary as every woman has different size nipples. This can cause pain when expressing if you are not using it correctly.

How did this product make your life easier?

Rebecca: I’ve always used an electric pump to express as I thought it was far quicker, but in fact, I had great results with this Lansinoh manual pump. I found it didn’t take long at all to get the same amount of milk as I would have done with an electric one. The easy-express handle means I can keep pumping for longer without my hand aching but I probably still wouldn’t use the manual pump too many times in one day.

Usha: It's a really good product if you are new to pumping. It is much quieter than electric pumps and it allows you to pump anywhere on-the-go if needed. I found it was good if you needed to pump some milk off if you felt too full overnight or if out at work. The pack includes everything you need.

Barbara: I always find it hard to fit in enough time to express milk while looking after the baby, so when I did have the time to express, I prefer to use a pump that is simple and straightforward. This pump is great and really is simple to use and I was able to start expressing in minutes once it had been cleaned and set up.

Would you choose this product to win?

Shiona: I would most definitely choose the Lansinoh over any other manual breast pump on the market as it is by far my favourite. Mainly because it is so easy to use, it doesn't require a lot of effort and you get a lot of return. I have never been able to get a lot of milk off with manual breast pumps but I did with this one.

Aimee: I was very impressed with the pump and feel that it ticks all the boxes for a manual breast pump. It is compact and comfortable to use.

Annabel: I have also used another manual breast pump and I think the Lansinoh is superior in many ways! The handle is silent and smoother so your hand aches less if you are pumping for a good few minutes. I got vastly more milk using the Lansinoh pump and it is easier to clean.

What changes would you make to this product?

Laura: The one aspect I would change about the Lansinoh manual breast pump would be the size of the bottle it comes with. The bottle is far too small and so it would be beneficial if a full-size bottle could be included. The price is also a tad expensive. There are other pumps on the market for less which do a very similar job.

Rebecca: I wouldn't change anything about the design of this product, but it only comes with a 160ml container, which isn't sufficient for my son now he's getting bigger and hungrier. It would be useful to have the option to buy the pump with a larger size bottle rather than having to buy these separately and decant the milk.

Usha: To be honest there is very little to fault with this. If you are going to manually express over electric pumping then this is definitely a pump I would recommend to start off with and see. Overall, if you are intending to express large quantities I would say an electric breast pump for me was easier but there are definite advantages to this manual one.
