At a glance:

There’s no ifs or buts, this bra is amazing! It looks more like a sports bra than a nursing bra, it’s easy to put on and has a stretchy material to accommodate fluctuating breast size during pregnancy and then throughout breastfeeding. Last but not least, we love the body-positive ethos of Cake Maternity.

What they say:

“This luxurious, double layered sleep and yoga bra is supportive without restriction. Its T-back design and closely constructed straps provide for a snug fit and ensures the straps stay on while sleeping or whilst undertaking light activity. Knitted from a dense yarn to provide comfort, you won't want to take this bra off!”

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I really like that this nursing bra feels quite sporty and youthful, some can make you feel a bit frumpy. It can be used as a pretty sports bra too, I am going to wear it to Pilates. After getting used to the cross-over back, I have realised it is really nice not to have two vertical straps digging in or falling off my shoulders. The cross straps hugged my upper body and encouraged a better upright posture – I loved this.

How did this product make your life easier?

This nursing bra is very comfortable and I have found it very easy to put on due to the stretchy material. It is also comfortable to sleep in as it is so soft! The pads hold your breasts in place day and night. Moreover, it is easy to adjust for size. This product is good for maternal dignity and makes you feel young and attractive!

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes, I especially like the colour combination of grey and purple and it is supportive and comfortable. They have used good quality, breathable materials and it is super stretchy to accommodate expanding breasts. Definitely a good investment.

What changes would you make to this product?

I really can’t think of anything I would change! Perhaps if it was available in other patterns that would be great.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I really felt special when opening this box and looked forward to wearing the nursing bra. Your bust has to work so hard during pregnancy and breastfeeding and a great nursing bra is a lifesaver! This adjustable, seamless bra is particularly helpful in the first weeks after birth when it is hard to know exactly what size you will be. It’s so comfortable!

How did this product make your life easier?

I would recommend the Cake Maternity nursing bra without hesitation. The material is so soft, making it really enjoyable to wear. It washes well and dries quickly too. I found that the product was most useful in the final stages of pregnancy, when I found normal bras too restrictive, and during the first few weeks of breastfeeding when breasts are engorged and sore. I have a large bust and found the thick material gave good support. I also really appreciated the beautiful packaging and positive statements about loving your body, particularly at such a time of change!

Would you choose this product to win?

I definitely think this should win because of the quality and positive message that comes with the product. It is so comfortable and I loved the colours. Price-wise, it is around the same as the other nursing bras I have bought and I feel the quality is so much better!

What changes would you make to this product?

I wouldn’t change anything about this product.

The fabric is so soft and feels amazing on your skin, with simple clips for easy access when feeding. Even after a few washes the product still looks and feels great. I thought it was very aesthetically pleasing too, however not very discreet under clothes. For a non-underwired bra it was very supportive!

How did this product make your life easier?

I use the product mostly for sleeping, as it makes me very comfortable and ensures easy access for the nightly feed. I can simply unclip and feed within a matter of seconds. Also, when I have worn the product during the day, I felt confident feeding as it does not make me overly exposed.

Would you choose this product to win?

I feel that this product is very high quality, it feels sturdy, secure and very soft against the skin, causing no irritation or marking on the skin. It is also a lovely colour and can be worn under most things, but may be a little hot in summer. Yes, I think it should win!

What changes would you make to this product?

I would like it to be a little more discreet, like a t-shirt bra, so that I could wear it under light coloured clothes and not worry that it stands out.

Tested by mum Kelly Ballantine for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this product as it is very easy to use and can be unclipped and clipped back up with one hand. The bra is very comfortable and I really enjoy wearing it. It's also comfortable to wear as the material is very soft but also supportive on the bust, so I found I could wear it at home or out and about.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product means I am able to breastfeed my baby much more easily. The pull-down design gives good access for feeding and the clasps are of high quality, meaning they can be unclipped easily with one hand, whilst holding baby in the other. They also do up quickly, meaning I can remain discreet when outside the house.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose this product above others because it's the most comfortable nursing bra I have ever worn. It gives a good support and shape to the bust, whilst also being practical for feeding baby. I would recommend to anyone breastfeeding.

What changes would you make to this product?

I can't fault the design at all, I’m extremely happy with the product!

Tested by mum Stephenie Beaumont for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Yes, I LOVED this bra. Firstly, it is so comfortable, the fabric is soft and there are no wires as it is seamless. I loved the colours too. It is simply a brilliant design and worth the money. I have five children, so I have tried a lot of nursing bras, and this is by far the best!

How did this product make your life easier?

During pregnancy and the first weeks of breastfeeding, it is difficult to find a decent bra as the size of your rib cage changes so much. It is also a time when mums can feel uncomfortable due to all the body changes, but this bra is brilliant as it accommodates all those changes! It saves money, time and is extremely comfortable.

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes absolutely! No hesitation. There are not many nursing bras that combine comfort and fit, that are also aesthetically pleasing. This bra is great value for money as it can be used in pregnancy and for breastfeeding, day or night. It’s amazing!

What changes would you make to this product?

I’d maybe like to see more colours available, but other than that it is hard to find anything to criticise about the product!

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

This bra is so comfortable and fits me really well. I really like the fact that it looks like a sports bra and so if seen under a top, you would think it was one. The material is very soft and I will feel very happy to feed in it.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

It is easy to undo the clip for feeding and I feel feel very secure in it. I feel that I would not need to wash it as much as other bras as it feels like it is designed to keep me feeling cool.

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

This is the best nursing bra I've had! It's the most comfortable bra I've ever worn. The fabric is really soft, the sizing was great, the straps adjust easily and clips work well. I also liked that the bra comes up quite high so I didn't expose any cleavage if my top was low cut and because it was a lovely Aqua colour it didn't matter that it showed - it looked more like a top than a bra.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

This bra kept me comfortable, washed well and undoing it one handed was easy so helped breastfeeding. I loved this bra so much I'd like to buy it in a few other colours!

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

Nothing - it's perfect!!!

Tested by mum Maria Xydhias-Mace for the M&B Awards 2016:

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?
