Mamas & Papas Pixi Highchair

A compact, light and stylish model that’s ideal for smaller homes and trips away. Easy to store, keep clean and comes at a great price too.

This is definitely worth a look if you’re after a smart, modern highchair that doesn’t come with a hefty price tag. It’s perfect for smaller homes as it folds down to just 18cm wide and it’s also simple to keep clean with few nooks and crannies for food to get stuck in.You can remove the harness and pop it in the washing machine and the safety bar can be removed when your baby becomes a toddler.

The seat is very comfortable with a spacious tray (complete with cupholder) that folds down compactly for storage and it also can be completely removed if you want your baby to dine at the table with you. The Pixi is good for younger babies as they’re well supported and also for travelling, as it’s so light.  The only downside is that it lacks the adjustability of some models and the seat seems quite low.

The tray is removable for easy storage when not needed, making it possible to position this highchair right up to your dining table – ideal for involving your baby in mealtimes. The wipeable fabric is easy to clean, and the cup holder is useful. It’s free-standing when folded, which is good for storage between uses.

Tested by Tami Anderson, 33, mum to Edith, six months. She says:

This one’s quite heavy, but easy to set up. The tray is a good size, but it feels flimsy, as if it might come off if you lean on it too heavily. It doesn’t reach quite close enough to Edith, so food falls into the gap, which is messy. Perhaps this one’s better suited to older children. Edith didn’t look particularly comfortable in it. It’s takes up minimal space when folded.

Tested by Sarah Smith, 36, mum to Ralph, 12 months. She says:

I found this easy to assemble and I barely needed the instructions. It’s got a spacious seat that’ll last for years. You can’t adjust the footrest, but it did mean that Ralph sat happily for long enough for me to clean up after meals. The removable tray is useful and easy to clean. There were no stains, even after bolognese. It’s good valu and doesn’t take up much space.

Tested by Baccara Gallacher, 22, mum to Indie, 21 months. She says:

Easily my favourite chair. Indie declared that this was ‘pretty and comfy’, and the only other thing she calls comfy is our memory foam mattress, so that’s saying something! I love the practical- yet-stylish design and the splash of colour. It’s easy to clean, and compact when stored. What more could you want? The price tag is just the icing on the cake.
