At a glance:

Our panel of mum testers all agreed these Doddlebags were an ingenious and versatile product. We love that these allow you to put homemade purees inside, saving money and helping the environment, the ultimate baby weaning product.

What they say:

“Designed by a young working mum who struggled to find a quick and easy way to pack her toddler’s lunches, Doddlebags are reusable food and drink pouches that will make your life a doddle. You can use Doddlebags for just about anything. Perfect on-the-go packaging for purées, smoothies, yoghurt, sauces, dressings and dips for picnics or packed lunches, they also have anti-choke caps, meaning they’re ideal for portions of baby food too. If you like to keep fit, they’re great for exercise gels at the gym or out jogging, and away from the kitchen, they’re brilliant for transporting toiletries or washing-up liquid if you’re on your travels.”

Tested by mum Sophie Hayward for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

These bags are a simple and effective design and super easy to use. It saves both money and time to have them made up and ready to go. Also, now that my little boy is no longer having purées, we do still use them for yogurt as a squidgy yogurt pouch is a firm favourite.

How did this product make your life easier?

Homemade purees are generally healthier and cheaper than shop-bought ones and this is a great way of travelling with them. My little boy loved feeding himself with these, as they are a good shape for little hands to grip the bag and suck the food out themselves. This leaves me hands-free!

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes I really like the design of these reusable pouches. They're simple, but fun and colourful too. They are also the only pouches I've seen with brush attachments available to fit them, creating another purpose for the product which is great for older children who perhaps wouldn't use them for food.

What changes would you make to this product?

Although I like the simplicity of the clear bags, some funky designs would be nice! That is probably my only thought on improving what I feel is a very well designed and useful product, for a good price.

Tested by mum Tiffany Jay for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Yes I love to show my mummy friends these pouches! The pouches create no mess and are so convenient to bring around with you. Also, my mum is a pre-school teacher and thought the paint brush idea was so innovative.

How did this product make your life easier?

I was drawn to the endless possibilities that you can have with a sealable bag. We have just started painting with our little ones and these little bags have come in really handy as you can keep different coloured paints in each bag, so they won’t dry up. But of course, the pouches are also perfect for food and great for making smoothies for the freezer.

Would you choose this product to win?

I never used to buy pouches of food, but am converted to these reusable Doddlebags now, especially because you can use them for smoothies in the freezer!

What changes would you make to this product?

It’s genius! I’ve got absolutely nothing to change.

Doddlebags are simply a must-have for travelling anywhere. Not only were we able to store snacks and creams for the little ones, but we were also able to keep shower gel and even mouthwash in these amazing pouches. Clean, hygienic and easy to use they are made from a great material that is reusable and neatly tucks into the pocket of a bag.

How did this product make your life easier?

This is a travel essential when you have little ones as you don't have to take anything bulky, you can simply transfer the amount you need into these amazing pouches and take it with you anywhere. The best thing is they are all reusable – it makes travelling easier and lighter.

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes. For feeding your little one I would absolutely recommend the spoon attachment as well, as it makes it so much easier to feed them directly from the pouch. It's a simple and adaptable design and you can buy so many attachments that change the use of the bag completely. Brilliantly innovative and very reasonably priced – I definitely think this product should win a Mother & Baby award.

What changes would you make to this product?

Maybe having a range of sizes of pouches might be useful as sometimes you need to take more than will fit into one pouch? That said I absolutely love this product!

Tested by mum Emma Henson for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

This product makes storing and transporting your own purees easier. The bags take up less space than Tupperware containers and the fact that you can add a spoon attachment to feed directly is great. However, I do think it would be good if you were able to microwave the bags. Although my daughter is too young to use the bags for crafts at the moment, I imagine it will be much less messy using the bags to store paint when we get started.

How did this product make your life easier?

The biggest selling point of this product is the wide variety of uses it has. It is useful when using purees at the start ofweaning, but I was so impressed that you can also extend its life by adding a brush attachment and then using it for painting or crafts when the child is older.  Personally, the fact that these pouches are the correct size for airline travel is a big bonus – this means I can easily transport manageable quantities of the toiletries that are prescribed for my daughter.

Would you choose this product to win?

I have not used re-usable bags like this before so would find it difficult to compare this product to other similar ones. However, they are easy to fill and have multiple uses which improves value for money. I would say yes, it should win a Mother & Baby award.

What changes would you make to this product?

I love these pouches but I think they would be better if they were microwavable. Also, it might be better value for money if the bags came with one spoon and one brush attachment, to help people to get the full range of use from the product.

Tested by mum Gillian Holbrook for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would highly recommend this product, not just to mums of babies, but to older children too. They are just so easy to use and fantastic quality. I have washed them out and reused them many times now and they are still going strong. They are so much cheaper than buying shop-bought food pouches and the bonus is that you know exactly what's in them.

How did this product make your life easier?

I absolutely love this product and we have used the pouches so much. I found it so useful for feeding my baby when out and about. I blended up veggies and could feed her anywhere with no mess, and used them for my two older daughters as well to make smoothies. They have so many uses, for example painting – how versatile! They are so easy to clean too, which is helpful as a busy mum.

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes, firstly for the amazing quality and secondly for the price. They are so well priced and such good value for money. It's great that you can also buy spoons and paint brushes for them too, unlike anything I have seen before. I will definitely be buying more.

What changes would you make to this product?

I'm really struggling here, perhaps there could be larger pouches available? Or possibly some fun designs on the packaging like flowers or animals. Lastly some nozzles, to use them for icing cakes, would be really useful.

Tested by mum Emma Johal for the M&B Awards 2017:

Would you recommend DoddleBags to other mums?

Definitely. At first I was unsure what I would use DoddleBags for but I have to say the uses are endless! I love the fact you can also buy attachments like a spoon which would be very handy with my 6 month old. I also love the idea of buying the paintbrush attachment as it means nice clean fun for my children and no mess for me! They are compact and lightweight and we'll made meaning that liquids do not leak out of them. Fabulous product!

How did this product make your life easier?

There are lots of ways DoddleBags make life easier as a mum. I use it to put my pureed food for my 6 month old to take out with us. I've used them to have a drink in my bag for my 6 year old when we have been to the park. I even use them to put shampoo and body wash in for when my daughter goes swimming. It's much easier to take a small lightweight product than what I would normally have to take.

What changes would you make to this product?

The size. A slightly larger size would be great for things like drinks as my 6 year old who loves the product is constantly needing it to be refilled as she can drink the max limit in one go. Otherwise I wouldn't change them. They really are great!

Tested by mum Hayley Mills for the M&B Awards 2017:

Would you recommend DoddleBags to other mums?

These DoddleBags are amazing for weaning and so much more. They are easy to fill as they stand up, they are freezable and washable. They are so easy to use and convenient. They have different coloured lids and co-ordinating stickers which make it easy to label/ colour code the various pouches.

How did this product make your life easier?

The DoddleBags really make weaning a doddle...I can fill these pouches, freeze, defrost and use straight from the pouch. Saves any extra mess when out and about just to squeeze straight on to a spoon. These pouches are also great for my toddler as I can make up smoothies and she can drink it straight from the spout.

Would you choose this product to win?

Absolutely fabulous product, really cost effective as they are reusable. They also have many different uses once the weaning stage is over so a great value product. I love DoddleBags as it's so easy and really makes things quicker and easier. Great for at home or when out and about. The spout also means you can use them for lumpier food as the weaning stage progresses.

What changes would you make to this product?

An additional purchase is the DoddleSpoon attachment that attaches directly to the pouch, I think this product would be the best it could be if it came with a spoon attachment as standard. This would just make the product even more convenient and easy to use. A handy product with various functions.

Tested by mum Shona Brown for the M&B Awards 2017:

Would you recommend DoddleBags to other mums?

They are easy to store in the fridge or freezer and carry in your changing bag. When they have been used they don't make a mess of take up any space in your bag. Easy to fill and to clean. They take up hardly any space when not in use and so easy to store away when not needed. Love the idea of being able to use the with the paint brush too and will be keeping an eye out for them. The bright lids are great as well as the stickers.

How did this product make your life easier?

Makes taking your own food out and about easier when weaning. You can fill the pouches easily and it is mess free which makes batch cooking and freezing a doddle. Can use for toddler with smoothies and yogurts so means you can have more options of things to take out with you and healthier options too.

Would you choose this product to win?

Space saving, ease of use. Multiple uses and can be used for wide range of ages - into adulthood. Storing both filled and empty pouches is great and takes up no space. It is mess free and you can use without having to take spoons if you want. Toddlers find it fun to use and makes giving "messy" items a bit easier as there tends to be no spills when I give liquid treats with this.

What changes would you make to this product?

Maybe the pouches could be a bit bigger as seven month old son who is in early stages of weaning has finished a pasta dish that was stored in one of these bags. I can't see me being able to have whole meals in these for much longer. Otherwise I think they are great and can't think of much more to improve them.

Tested by mum Samantha Whyborn for the M&B Awards 2017:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I have found these DoddleBags to very useful as when I was making my own purees for my daughter it has saved a lot of money, and I can reuse them over again. They are great as they small, durable and have colourful stickers and lids too. My friend has even gone out and brought some for her daughter.

How did this product make your life easier?

These DoddleBags are a brilliant product as I have used them on all the family members, I even used them on holiday. DoddleBags have made my life so much easier as when I have gone out with my little one I have been able to make her some food and I know what's gone in it and it's the right amount for her.

Would you choose this product to win?

DoddleBags are a life saver and when out and about with my little one feeding her with one of these DoddleBags have saved me a lot of money on jars and other pouches. I have recommended these to other mums to use above any others out there.

Tested by mum Jessica Maitland for the M&B Awards 2017:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Doddlebags are just so useful! We have used them for food for my two children aged 6 and 23 months. But also for our toilettries on holiday - they are the perfect size for flying - and storing breast milk. They are well designed and easy to use and clean.

How did this product make your life easier?

Yes because I don't tend to buy convenience foods but have struggled using pots to transport things like smoothies and yoghurts when on the go. There is no need to take a spoon with you, they don't leak and when empty take up much less room than pots do. These bags store well in the freezer as they lie flat and also in the fridge where they can stand up meaning I can store more than with traditional pots.

Would you choose this product to win?

DoddleBags can be used for both traditional and baby led weaning. They have so many uses for a family beyond weaning that I think it will become a staple item in my handbag, just filled with different things. I've already filled one with suncream for my bag for instance. This product is brilliant value for money, it is reuseable which is important to me as I like to minimise waste and it is easy to use. Perfect!

What changes would you make to this product?

I honestly cannot think of anything I would change about this product. It is well designed, easy to use, comes in a pack of ten with colour co-ordinating labels. It is environmentally friendly, easy to clean and my kids loved using it. A really useful weaning product with wider uses.
