Tested by mum Jane Hobday for the M&B Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

This monitor really impressed me and I would certainly recommend it. It was easy to set up straight out of the box, and within minutes I had it up and running and testing it once I'd charged it overnight. The monitor has a temperature gauge which looked to be fairly accurate, it also has two-way communication to talk to your baby and it plays lullabies. I thought the camera itself was good - you can remote zoom and tilt which is really useful if you're in another room and want to change the camera angle. The other feature which is quite unique is the ability to log in via an app on your phone/tablet and watch your child! This was fun for my partner who sometimes did this whilst at work to see what we were up to! My only disappointment was the screen quality on the parent unit was poor, as was the sound quality. I had to hold it up to my ear even on max volume. The screen quality is poor on parent unit but really good on the smartphone app. The camera is laggy when you are moving it but I can put up with this, considering that a lot of monitors don't have the ability to move the camera.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

The monitor is so useful with its video capability that I can easily leave my child playing in his room and go downstairs for a few minutes whilst watching that he doesn't get in any danger - just takes the pressure off from being with him every second. And, of course, at night, it helps us to get a better night sleep knowing we can watch him.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

The biggest downsides are the sound quality which we found to be quite poor - it is better on some of the basic cheaper sound monitors. The screen quality on the parent unit is also poor - which is a shame considering that the camera must be HD as it appears really good quality when logged in through your phone.

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

I would recommend this to any current or to-be parent.  We have used radio frequency monitors before and this was our first trial with a video link one.  The setup was relatively easy to follow.  The monitor is a good size, with easy to use buttons and functions.  The picture quality both day and night is very good, along with the sound quality too.  The camera is not too big and can easily sit on anything.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

This product adds another sense of security with the safety feature of video link.  Often you could hear your child move and see if he/she is actually sitting up or trying to escape!  A very good product with the range of frequency also good enough to have child in the front room and hang washing out in the back garden.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

The only critical part of this product is the fact that the mobile app is a pay one and not free.  I’ve tried the free app and found myself not using it due to the good-sized monitor.
