What we say:

With a soft silicone wristband that’s easily-adjustable, this wearable audio monitor lets you keep track of any sounds your baby makes wherever you are in the house – simply wear it like a watch. There are three different monitoring modes including vibration. The range is good (up to 240 metres) and the rechargeable battery lasts for up to 8 hours.

The Babble Band is a really original concept and great idea. It’s light, discreet and easy to install, but the battery life is short and the only way to charge it is by placing it on the baby unit – tricky if the battery runs out during the night. If you wear it whilst checking on your baby there’s loud feedback – not ideal during naptime!

Tested by Rebecca Shepherd, from Lincoln, mum to Sophie, six months. She said:

This sound-only monitor supplies less information than others (e.g no temperature gauge) but it’s such an innovative idea – really handy if you're always on the move around the house. Wearing it takes some getting used to. I kept forgetting to take it off before going in to check on Sophie which lead to some rather ear-splitting interference!

Tested by Christine Hope, from Herefordshire, mum to Nola, 13 months. She said:

A very different type of baby monitor but we liked its uniqueness and simplicity. The strap looks as though it could fit any size wrist easily and it’s simple to clean. The vibrate option is a great idea and really handy if you’re doing a noisy job outside like cutting the grass. It’s not especially stylish-looking but highly practical.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

This is a great product. It is discreet and stylish and does not look out of place in my son’s nursery. The band is very wearable for both me and my husband and is so well designed with all the features being easy to use and understand. Above all the product works really well.

How did this product make your life easier?

Both me and my husband have been able to get on with jobs around the house while our nine-week-old is napping during the day. It has allowed me to move Max for his daytime naps into his nursery as he has outgrown his Moses basket in the living room and his two year old sister kept waking him up. Now we can relax and play downstairs and I can move anywhere in the house and garden with the peace of mind that I can hear Max if he wakes.

This product is great for its portability and ease of use. I like that I can set the wristband to vibrate so if I am hoovering I will still be alerted to Max waking. I also like the look and design of both the base unit and the band which is clean and modern. It encompasses a lot of features in a fairly small wristband and I appreciate the listen in feature and the lights that show the volume the base unit is picking up.

What changes would you make to this product?

I love all the features of this product. If I had to nitpick I would like a range of colours to blend in with nursery decoration. It would be useful for some sort of alarm or sound to beep when audio is picked up by the base unit to alert you to when the wristband has started to emit sound as sometimes I have noticed the lights before hearing the audio.

The Babble Band is easy to set up and use and is appropriately sensitive to noise. The baby unit looks modern and clean. The receiver band is genius! The band sits neatly on top of the baby unit to charge and for storage when not in use. The band is adjustable and comfortable to wear. Battery life is good. There are different settings to alert you to your baby's noises including audio and vibration, and there is a good range of volume settings.

How did this product make your life easier?

The wearable band means that when my baby sleeps, I can go wherever I need to in the house or garden without needing to carry around (and often misplace) the baby monitor receiver. Jobs like hanging the washing out and going to the toilet are much easier. It was also fantastic when dealing with a toddler who was struggling to adjust to the new baby. I was able to spend time with my toddler in another room and discretely listen to what my baby was up to. She thought she had my full attention.

It is the best baby monitor I've come across and is a unique product that has no other competitors. I can do whatever I need to do around the house when using this product and be reassured that I can hear my baby and go to them when they need me. Every parent needs this baby monitor in their life!

What changes would you make to this product?

I LOVE this product so we're scratching around here... I wore the receiver on the same arm as my watch and often mistakenly looked at it instead of my watch so maybe the manufacturers could add a watch face to the receiver. They could also add some funky designs to the wristband so that when I inevitably leave the house wearing it, it looks like a piece of jewellery (although it may put the men folk off wearing it).
