Good looking and sturdy, the Alma gets a big thumbs up for arriving already assembled. It’s very expensive, and doesn’t have a huge amount of storage space, but it wins for its longevity as you can remove the changing tray, converting it into a chest of drawers, once those nappy days are over.
The Alma is a beautiful and sturdy piece of furniture, that’s very practical too. A major plus point is that there is no assembly required as it’s delivered already built. Result.
The changing unit comes with a soft mat and the tray can be removed and used over a cot too. The drawers are soft closing, which reduces the risk of fingers getting trapped, it’s just a shame they’re not very spacious. The Alma is very heavy and bulky too, so give it a miss if you have a small nursery.
Once your baby’s older, you can remove the changing tray and you’re left with a stylish chest of drawers. There’s no getting away from the fact it’s an expensive buy, especially as you have to pay an extra £150 for the changing tray, but if sleek design and longevity are a priority, then it’s worth it. Available in three colour options which co-ordinate with other Bloom nursery furniture items.
