At a glance:

Our panel of mum testers loved this product, which praises your little one every time they flush the loo! It’s a lovely bright colour and has a cute fanfare noise. All in all, a great product.

What they say:

“Kidsflush is very simply a raised button that is placed over the top of the existing toilet flush. It makes the button much easier for children to press and makes flushing fun with a sound that plays when activated. Kidsflush encourages children to flush and is especially useful at toilet training stage when it is important to promote good bathroom habits for the future.”

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would definitely recommend this to my friends and family. Before receiving the product, it was hard to get my son to use the potty, let alone the toilet, and now he asks to use the toilet of his own accord! It has really helped him.

How did this product make your life easier?

It made my life much easier as it was so easy to show my son how to use. Now he looks forward to going to the toilet and pressing the flush to hear the sound after he has done his business. It also helps him to remember to always flush the loo so he doesn't need reminding. It's such a bright and easy design to use - no more messing around with pull ups and training pants!

Would you choose this product to win?

I do think this is an excellent product, even though I haven’t tried lots of others on the market. My son now wears underwear and did so throughout our test. It's so easy to attach to your toilet and very simple to explain to a toddler how to use it – he picked it up straight away.

What changes would you make to this product?

There could be more of a variety of noises available, for example, some applause and cheering would be nice!

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this product to my mummy friends because it will give them an easy life when toilet training starts and will make it fun for their kids too. The process of wiping, flushing, washing and drying hands is easier for a child to do once there's a fun rewarding aspect to the chore.

How did this product make your life easier?

As a mum, this product makes my life easier as it gives my child the independence to flush the toilet herself. The ease of use and the rewarding jingle encourages her to want to do it by herself, so I can feel confident she has flushed properly. For her, it's fun and for me it's practical!

Would you choose this product to win?

I do really like this product and would certainly choose it as a front runner! It does help with flushing but my children learnt to flush without it, so it is not an absolute essential.

What changes would you make to this product?

I understand that it’s supposed to be bright and fun but it didn’t fit with my bathroom aesthetic very well. Also, if there was an option to turn the jingle off that would be better as when the kids go to bed, I don't feel the need for it.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would only recommend this to a friend if they were specifically struggling to get their child to flush the toilet. This is a fun way to implement that but in my opinion, it can make it harder for my daughter to flush the toilet due to the added height.

How did this product make your life easier?

The Kids Flush gets my daughter excited about flushing the toilet and she has remembered every time. This makes my life easier. However, it is also inconvenient that I have to pull the button back up once pressed, because otherwise my toilet will continue to flush and waste water.

Would you choose this product to win?

I have not seen any other products on the market that help children flush the toilet so I would say this is very unique. I do think that it is fun and innovative, but the button adds about another two and a half inches to the height so my little girl cannot reach it. Therefore, I would not necessarily choose it to win.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would like to see other noises available and also felt that the price tag was a bit high for what the product is.

Tested by mum Sarah Karagozlou for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this product as I believe it encourages a child to use the toilet and flush correctly. It gives them a sense of satisfaction and achievement, meaning they do not fear the toilet but instead embrace it. It saves the parent time, effort and patience having to repeat themselves to their child.

How did this product make your life easier?

It makes life easier as it makes toilet training fun and motivates the child to flush. A lot of the time children become bored and lazy and often don't flush the toilet, this product means the parent is confident, knowing their child has flushed!

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose this product as I believe it's one of a kind! It’s a real game changer for both mums and toddlers and I would highly recommend it.

What changes would you make to this product?

One thing I'd change about the product is that the button currently presses down both sides of the flush. To save energy, they could make it an option to just use the small flush. Otherwise I love it!

Tested by mum Gemma Meers for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend it to fellow mums if they have a reward-striving toddler such as mine. He loves climbing up on the 'big boy toilet' to flush away what he has poured out of his potty. It is a great incentive and helps promote the hygiene of flushing after every use.

How did this product make your life easier?

It makes potty training a bit more exciting! I have a newborn as well as my toddler, so potty training in a time of jealousy has been tough! The excitement of the 'flush' has given him an incentive to want to go and makes it less of a battle to get him to do it when I am stressed out or in a rush.

Would you choose this product to win?

I haven't really seen anything like this on the market, I think it is a very original product! It’s so hard to make toddlers understand about hygiene, and this definitely helped us. It’s also a colourful design and the reward tune is fun.

What changes would you make to this product?

It is quite difficult to switch to mute so rather than have the hassle, we are stuck with the sound every time we go to the toilet. This is inconvenient in the night as we can wake toddler up by mistake.
