Suitable from age 18 months, this square wooden sandpit has coloured corner seats, so there’s plenty of room for friends, and lots of play space.
It will appeal to children who love taking off their shoes and socks, and burying their toes in the sand before they build their sandcastles. It’s a budget buy, but our testers felt the quality could be improved.
Tested by Leanne, 32, mum to Darcie, 18 months, and Harrison, five. She says:
This one is a similar design to the Pinolino – minus the sun canopy and £50 cheaper – but it has plastic sheeting underneath to catch the sand. It’s a very basic design and not especially appealing to look at, but the wood is sturdy and I like the colours.
It’s a good height for toddlers and a fairly reasonable price. It wouldn’t be my first choice, but it’s perfectly fine.

This holds a decent amount of sand in a good-sized play area, and the children liked playing in it, but I’m not convinced it will last beyond one summer, as the materials don't seem particularly sturdy.
The ground sheet isn't fixed to the sandpit, so it moves around a lot during play and the cover doesn’t fit well. Even at the reasonable price, this is disappointing.
Tested by Jayne, 37, mum to Lily, two, Oliver, nine, and Charlotte, 10. She says:
Looks bright and cheery, but the groundsheet doesn’t attach well to the frame and became crumpled and messy when we filled it with sand.
Lily enjoyed sitting on the colourful corner seats for a while, but seemed to lose interest quite quickly. The price seems good, but I actually feel it’s quite expensive for what you get.
