At a glance:

Aldi Mamia Sensitive Fragrance Free  Baby Wipes are great value for money! The packet contains loads of wipes and the re-sealable lid prevents them from drying out. The wipes are moist and thick enough to get the job done efficiently. The aloe and chamomile fragrance is pleasant although the list of ingredients seems quite chemical-y, which might be off-putting for parents who prefer a more natural wipe. The quality is good and the pack size is even better – highly recommended for budget shoppers!

What they say:

“Mamia baby wipes are manufactured from an extra soft cloth that's strong enough for gentle cleansing during nappy time, feeding time or playtime. Mamia baby wipes contain a dermatologically tested lotion with natural Aloe Vera and Chamomile to help keep baby's skin soft and smooth. Fragrance free, mild and gentle. Dermatological tested, hypoallergenic and cotton soft embossed. Designed to help keep baby's skin soft and smooth, each wipe contains Aloe Vera and Chamomile. Do not flush wipes down the toilet.”

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this product to a fellow mum because hygienically, they are much easier to use when you are out and about. I am absolutely in love with the size of these wipes. They are really useful for cleaning up dirty bums because of the size and create less of a chance that the poo gets anywhere but on the wipe. The ingredients are calming and they almost seem like they moisturise the skin. I have used them to wipe my hands and my hands feel lovely after so I am incredibly happy that my child's skin can feel the same way. The plastic lid creates a defence, keeping the wipes wet. Many brand packaging doesn’t have this and if you accidentally tear the packaging, or loose the stickiness on the lid then you are at risk of the wipes drying out.

How did this product make your life easier?

My daughter has a suspected dairy intolerance and because of this her stools can be very explosive. The Mamia wipes are very durable and less are needed to clean up due to their size. A lot of the other wipes I have used are so small so I am always getting poo on my fingers! Mamia wipes give us a quick and easy clean up.

Would you choose this product to win?

I do think this product should win. I would have never tried these wipes because I don't shop in Aldi but I think that I might be going there from now on and stocking up on these wipes. I've always complained about how other brands are so expensive and they give you a tiny bit of cloth. With Mamia you get more for your money and they seem a lot nicer against my child's skin.

What changes would you make to this product?

The only negative experience that I found with these wipes is they are not so easy to remove one at a time like they advertise on the back of the packaging. Other than this they are a great product that I would definitely recommend.

Tested by mum Christina Houghton for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would definitely recommend this brilliant product to others as the wipes are easily dispensed, very gentle on baby’s bum and are so reasonably priced. I have had absolutely no problems with soreness and you don’t need to use loads of them, I was surprised at how long one packet can last.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product is fantastic. The plastic dispenser on top makes it so much easier when using them and as it’s easy to shut the lid after use so there are no dried out wipes. The wipes themselves are so moist! It makes nappy changing time a doddle.

Would you choose this product to win?

I think this product should definitely win as it shows you don’t have to pay dearly to get the best. These are the best value for money and I can't think of one thing that could be changed about this product.

What changes would you make to this product?

I really can’t think of one thing. Perfect price, perfect quality, perfect wipes. 10/10!

Would you recommend this to other mums?

These wipes are great value for money so I would definitely recommend them to a fellow mum, as compared to other wipes on the market they are extremely good quality for what you pay. When you are a mum getting through hundreds of wipes a week, good value wipes are a life (and money) saver!

How did this product make your life easier?

I love the resealable lid that keeps the wipes fresh and easy to open without fiddling about with a sticker. Some other wipes seem to dry out quickly but these ones don't which is great. The wipes seem to last for ages so I know if I take a pack out in my changing bag I won't run out of them in a hurry.

Would you choose this product to win?

I think this product should win a Mother & Baby award as the quality is extremely high for the price that you pay. I love the smell of these baby wipes (some other ones make me gag, is that just me?!) and they are really soft and retain their moisture a lot better than other ones that we've tried. I definitely will not be going back to another brand after trying these - one pack lasts ages!

What changes would you make to this product?

I love so much about these baby wipes that the only thing that can be a problem is that the wipes sometimes stick together as I'm pulling them out which can be a bit of a pain! But I make sure I am prepared and pull out what I think I will need and then because of the snap close lid I can just shove any unused wipes back to be used later!

Tested by mum Abby Howard for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would definitely recommend this product to other mums, I think the wipes are extremely good quality for the price, they are so affordable and good on baby's skin. The sensitive range I find is just so delicate and soft, I even use them as face wipes sometimes. Definitely will be using this product all the time now.

How did this product make your life easier?

Since using this product, it makes changes when out and about far easier, the wipes come out brilliantly one by one which means you don't overuse. Also I find the quality of the wipes so good, they don't rip and they're really good for poo-splosions!

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose this product over others for the fact that the quality is great, the wipes are easy to get out at each use and I've not had any rip on me yet, which some other brands do.

What changes would you make to this product?

I really can't think of anything to change about this product at all, other than maybe having different options of packet sizes, for example a smaller version to put in the nappy bag. I really can't think of anything else to change in these wipes, they really are everything you need and excellent quality, will continue to use these all the time now.

Tested by mum Jennifer Howard for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend these wipes to other mums - they are cheap and you know that you are going to receive a decent quality product. After having my son and having the many mum conversations that follow, I can say that the only conversation I have had specifically about wipes comes when a baby has very sensitive skin. These wipes are for sensitive skin and are fine on my baby's bottom, hands, face but they do cause some slight rashing if used on his belly or back. This would be a minor disclaimer I would give if recommending these to another mum.

How did this product make your life easier?

As a mother, a good pack of wipes comes in handy at least once every half an hour! It is essential to find a brand of wipes that works for you and once you do- you stick to them! These wipes have the plastic flip lid which helps to prevent the remaining wipes from drying out. The wipes also come out easily (you don't have to stand and battle for the next wipes whilst holding a pair of tiny feet in one hand and a clean nappy in your mouth). They are sensitive and work well on my baby's bottom. However, when cleaning up after a messy feed, the wipes do leave a slight rash if used on baby's tummy or lower back.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose this product above most others on the market for several reasons: they are fantastically priced, they are amazing quality and they have a plastic lid for ease of use when you could really use an extra pair of hands!

What changes would you make to this product?

The packaging is unfortunately plain and uninteresting compared to other brands and the wipes could also be a tiny bit thicker.

Tested by mum Heather Speed for the Mother & Baby Awards 2017:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend these baby wipes to mums because of the design of the wipe packet. The wipes are in a helpful packet with a sealable lid which helps keep the wipes moist. The packet also makes the removable of wipes from the packet really easy, even if you have your hands full with a wriggling baby at the time.

How did this product make your life easier?

These wipes make life easier because they are easy to take out the packet, and (as the packet states) the next one 'pops' up to make it easier to grab when you need it. The wipes are a good size, which means they wipe up more mess. This means that, in time, you save more money because you are using less wipes.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose this product over other wipes. The Mamia wipes are a lot thicker which makes them feels a lot more expensive than what they actually are. I was honestly pleasantly surprised with these wipes, as they have definitely exceeded my expectations.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would change the design of the packaging of these wipes. I feel the design needs to be more eye-catching than the light green design it currently has. That way I feel it would more outstanding if I went to buy it in a shop, and it would be more likely to buy it in future if it caught my eye when I'm shopping.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I absolutely love the Mamia Sensitive Baby Wipes! And would definitely recommend these to any other mums out there. I would never use any others now after trying these. What I love - no scent so don't agitate my son; really strong wipe - no tearing like others; packaging looks good & the clip top keeps them fresh; they don't dry out - amazing! Because of this you find that you don't need to use as much over nappy change! Very durable product, love them!

How did this product make your life easier?

The strong wipe means that you use less, and you don't get into difficult situations when cleaning the dirtiest nappies, absolutely brilliant wipes! I love the fact it has a clip top that keeps them fresh & they don't dry out like others. Absolute bargain wipes & in my opinion best on the market.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would change one thing with these wipes, and that is when you go to reach for one sometimes you can't get them apart from the others very easily (one handed when holding little feet) - not sure how you could change this though as this seems to be the case with most wipes out there. I would definitely recommend these!

Tested by mum Claire Jelliman for the Mother & Baby Awards 2017:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Really lovely wet wipes, they are nice and thick, moist, soft and leave baby's bum very smooth. They smell lovely and come in a very easy to use pack that is easy to dispense compared to other makes that you end up pulling 3/4 wipes out at a time while trying to control a wriggling pooey baby ! These wipes are excellent value for money, they are a big pack too so you get a lot in a packet. They also don't leak like some other brands do as the packet securely shuts.

How did this product make your life easier?

These baby wips made my life much easier when I had a baby with a very messy bum who likes to wriggle and try to turn over. I could put the packet next to me so it was to hand and it stayed there and also only dispenses one wipe at a time unlike some brands when the wipes come out in lumps. The wipes are thick and don't rip which is the last thing you want with a pooey bum, and they are really moist so they clean off all muck in one wipe. They smell lovely and don't leave a funny smell after using them.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose these wipes as they are excellent value for money, the price of other wipes that are exactly the same as these are a lot more money and these wipes do exactly the same job as a high street brand does. With the handy lid on top the wipes don't dry out and the wipes come out much easier when your trying to wipe a bum while using one hand.

What changes would you make to this product?

If I could change one thing about this product I would maybe give the wipes a bit more of a lotion feel so when wiping baby's mum it leaves it more soft and maybe a bit of a nice smell too. I also used the wipes on my toddler for his hands so it could really do with a little more moisturizer in maybe to leave a softer feel.

Tested by mum Caroline Kirkham for the Mother & Baby Awards 2017:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

These wipes are easily available in both the larger packs and handy smaller packs to fit in the changing bag. They work well and haven't irritated my baby's skin. There are a lot of ingredients in them, but not as many as in other wipes. I think this can be confusing for parents as these are sensitive and fragrance free, yet have so many unknown elements to them.

How did this product make your life easier?

The packets are easily available in your local Aldi, and they come in multipack boxes or smaller packets for your changing bag which I have not found with a lot of other brands. The lid on the packet closes well so the wipes are well contained and do not stick out and dry out, which makes changing time a little quicker!

Would you choose this product to win?

I personally prefer a different brand of wipes as there are fewer ingredients to them so less chance of a reaction on the baby's bottom. I do, however, like that the packets do come in different sizes and so don't have to carry a larger packet in the changing bag as wipes are quite heavy! It takes a lot for some parents to change from cotton wool and water to wipes and so they need the brand to be reliable and sensitive which the Mamia wipes are.

What changes would you make to this product?

I don't think there is much I would change about this product. They are as good, if not better, than some of the labelled brands out there on the market and Aldi have a good name when it comes to baby products - nappies in particular. Even though they are marketed as fragrance free, there is still a distinctive 'baby wipe' smell to them so this could be a bit of a description problem as it can be the fragrance which irritates newborn skin.

Tested by mum Alex Pearce for the Mother & Baby Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

First of all the price tag of 59p makes these some of the cheapest wipes on the market. They are strong and durable; don't tear when you pull them out of the packet and rarely pull more than one out at a time. They are sensitive to the babies skin and I always buy fragrance free, I think the fragranced wipes can be a little too soapy.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

The plastic opening makes life easier when you are in a rush to wipe your babies bum, there's nothing worse than fighting with a sticky seal in the middle of a nappy change! The wipes are easy to pull out of the packet and I found them the perfect thickness and size.  The amazing price tag also means I'm saving money which in my opinion certainly makes my life a little easier!!

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

I found the plastic lid quite tricky to open so I would suggest they look at the design again as it was quite frustrating when changing my little ones bum! I also find towards the end of the packet the wipes get very wet where the liquid has soaked down to the bottom. They are sometimes too wet to use on my son so I open a new packet.

Tested by mum Ashleigh Kirkpatrick for the Mother & Baby Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

These wipes felt really good quality and I can't believe how cheap they are! They had a nice clean scent and felt pure enough to use on a newborns delicate skin. They caused no irritation at all and cleaned up messy hands and faces easily. I will definitely be using these again.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

I feel happy using these on a newborns skin which saves using cotton wool and water.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

I would like a plastic closing lid to make sure wipes don't dry up. This would maybe result in a price increase though which is the major selling point for me.

Tested by mum Deirdre Owen for the Mother & Baby Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

I have heard so many people go on and on about Aldi Mamia wipes and always wondered what the fuss was about - NOW I KNOW  at 59p a packet what a bargain and the product is safe for my children - which is a must.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

Well with all the wipes i did the tomato soup test and thankfully passed with flying colours. It cleaned my children up very well with no staining unlike other wipes.   The product felt safe to use all over the body including eyes and delicate areas. I will most certainly be paying Aldi a visit to buy Mamia wipes from now on.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

Make packaging recyclable. Have availability to buy online and in bulk.

Tested by mum Leah Nicole Rabbett for the Mother & Baby Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

Absolutely the best out there for the money. Highly worth recommending, I have been ever since using these. Best supermarket brand by far!

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

Clip top is awesome knowing these won't dry out. They are wet enough but not to wet, they are very kind to the skin and just a great wipe for the money.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

I don't think one thing needs to change.
