The Beco Soleil Baby Carrier is lightweight, comfortable and sturdy yet flexible – supporting baby but also allowing freedom to move. Additional accessories are a nifty rain/sun shade and an insert for tiny babies although the carrier does seem better suited to slightly larger/older babies.

The baby carrier is relatively easy to put on – the instructions are clear, and the tuck away strap feature is a good idea. The baby carrier seems to be more comfortable when the straps cross over as opposed to ‘rucksack mode,’ as the instructions first suggest. The strap across the shoulder could be a little stronger to give the wearer more support and there are a lot of straps, some with ultra secure clips that can be quite difficult to undo without help. The neck clasp could also be a tad more accessible.

The baby carrier is slightly bulky and does not collapse neatly into a cocoon or case as many other comparable carriers on the market do, so it is not as portable. But the design of the baby carrier lends itself to more active pursuits – long walks or shopping trips, which makes it a worthwhile investment for parents who are out and about quite a bit.

Overall, it’s a quality product that is secure, aesthetically pleasing and good value for money.
