Mother&Baby was joined by high-profile businesswomen at The Library in Kensington on Thursday 16 October for this year’s VIP afternoon tea event for working mums.

The Working Mums Club networking event – sponsored by La Bottega, Shloer and Lidl – was a chance for working mums to share ideas with motivational women at the top of their fields.

The event’s inspirational guest speaker was mum-of-two Nancy Cruickshank – founder of Handbag.com, beauty expert and a champion among women in business.

‘Even though they love talking about relationships, beauty and fashion, I see more and more women also talking about business and making an impact,’ Nancy said.

‘Women are great at collaborating which is an essential thing,’ she added. ‘We are able to make something special from scratch. I’ve always noticed that women are involved in their communities.’

The entrepreneur also talked about her latest venture, MyShowcase, which empowers women to run their own beauty business from home.

Model Zoe Cole, tweeted about the event, writing, ‘Thank you for a fascinating and inspiring talk @MotherAndBaby mags Women in Business tea. #beautyjunkie #parenting #empower’.

La Bottega laid on an amazing Italian-style afternoon tea
