Brother Max 1st Stage Weaning Pots, £7.97, Amazon

Babycup Baby & Toddler First Cups £6.99, Amazon

The Babycup is perfectly sized for baby and toddler hands, encouraging your little one to learn sipping and improve fine motor skills. Babycup’s Baby & Toddler First Cups are a great for teaching little ones to drink from a cup without a lid.

Beaba Babycook Solo 4-in-1 Babyfood Maker, £109.99, Amazon

This takes the stress and mess out of preparing healthy meals for little ones. It cooks quickly and purées baby’s food to the correct consistency. The blending function is both quiet and efficient, and the product has a large jug capacity, which accommodates mass cooking. Although slick and stylish, the Babycook does take up a lot of space in a small kitchen and it is expensive, especially for something that will only be used in the short term.

ClevaFeed with Extra Teat, £5.99, Clevamama

ClevaMama’s ClevaFeed is colourful, easy to clean (just needs a good soak) and great for teething babies. The top of the teat snaps open so that you can place food inside and allow baby to gnaw and suck without the risk of choking. It’s a really clever, efficient product and the extra teat is brilliant if you’re ‘out and about’ and don’t have access to cleaning facilities.

Fill 'n' Squeeze Baby Food Pouch Filler, £45, Amazon

The Fill n Squeeze Baby Food Pouch Filler is brilliant for parents who like to make their own baby food. The pouches hold lumpy food as well as purée and the portions are generous. They can also be frozen, microwaved and are great for ‘on the go’ eating. The pouches are easy to fill, the only drawback is that time it takes to clean the product – it can be difficult to get at the last bits of food at the bottom of the pouch. Nonetheless, a great idea that could revolutionise the way many mums and dads do their baby food.

mOmma by Lansinoh Cup with Straw and Dual Handles, £8.49 (250ml), Amazon

The mOmma by Lansinoh Cup with Straw and Dual Handles is modern, fun and easy for little ones to hold. The design is quirky and attractive but its bulky shape makes it difficult to fit into a lunch or changing bag. It is sturdy and doesn’t leak, and little ones will definitely enjoy drinking out of it.

Munchkin 4 White Hot Safety Spoons, £3, Amazon

Munchkin White Hot Safety Spoons are soft and easy to grip. The spoon tip turns white when food is too hot.

Munchkin Click Lock Tip & Sip Straw Cup, £7.67, Amazon

Munchkin’s Click Lock Tip & Sip Straw Cup is a good introduction to using a straw. It doesn’t leak and the straw element is weighted so that even when the cup is tipped (as little ones are sure to do), the straw will remain in the drink. The cup is good for popping into your bag – it has a tight-fit click top lid although the flip top straw cap does come off quite easily. It also comes with a nifty straw-sized cleaning brush (yay!).

Nuby Clik-It Flip Insulated Decorated Beaker, £4.49, Nuby

The Clik-It Flip It Insulated Decorated Beaker by Nûby is a good, solid cup that is a great for teaching children how to use a straw. The cup is insulated so it keeps drinks nice and cool, and with a click top lid it’s also leak proof.

Nûby Garden Fresh Mighty Blender, £34.45, Amazon

The Nûby Garden Fresh Mighty Blender makes food preparation for babies so much easier, and quicker too! The blender is suitable for all stages of weaning, from purées and chunkier textures to ‘mini meals’ for older babies. The product has steamer and pressure start functions, and comes with a host of accessories, including a spatula (which is great for scooping food out of the blender), storage cups, interchangeable blades (allowing for different consistencies), and a single portion blender unit as well as a larger unit for batch cooking.

Pop-in Coverall Bib, £7.99, closeparent.com

For maximum mess protection at meal time, the Coverall Bib by Pop-in is an absolute must-have! The long-sleeved apron-style bib slips on easily and ties at the back for a snug fit. A large pocket at the front captures meandering dinner items and the bib is entirely waterproof, keeping spills off clothes.

First Cutlery Set, £2.49 Little Angels, ASDA

Asda Little Angels First Cutlery Set (consisting of a knife, fork and spoon) is perfect for little hands. The utensils are just the right size for a baby learning to self-feed or a toddler already confident with cutlery, with chunky ‘handles’ and a wide head on both the spoon and the fork to allow for easy scooping.

Brother Max 1st Stage Weaning Pots, £7.97, Amazon

The 1st Stage Weaning Pots by Brother Max make weaning an absolute pleasure – saving loads of time and making the whole process just that much easier. With flexible, easy push-through bases and leak-proof hinged lids, you can pop out frozen food or thaw/defrost and serve your little one directly from the pot.
