Shortlisted in the 2018 Mother and Baby Awards Best Baby Food Range/Product

Piccolo Organic Baby Food is known for the creative flavours that they offer to expand your baby's taste buds, including beetroot, kale and cherry flavours. They also offer simple flavours to get your baby used to basics too.

The pouches went down really well with our panel of mum testers, although they wished there were smaller sizes on offer for smaller babies, as these pouches are suitable for babies over seven months and are also gluten-free.

Mum tester, Joanne Harding, said: "I would use these baby food pouches above others – they have unique mixes of healthy ingredients and my little boy enjoyed them. The thing that made them stand out from others I have seen is the wide mix of flavours, usually containing at least three key ingredients. They also add extra little ingredients like herbs or vanilla. It all feels very healthy and make life easier as a working mum."

Are baby food pouches healthy?

We recommend using them up until nine months old because they'll be slightly thicker and a good way to work different ingredients into your baby's diet. They're a great tool to work your way onto solid food easily and accessibly.

After nine months, though, you'll want to move your baby onto even thicker recipes with chunks and pieces for your baby to chew. You can still use baby food pouches within this time to slowly adapt to different tastes.

What baby food pouches should I be buying?

There are loads of baby food pouches available to buy these days that aren't just spaghetti bolognese flavoured. With so many brands and flavours to choose from too, it's hard to know which is best.

It's worth trying different brands and flavours so that your baby can get used to different flavours, such as fruits, vegetables and meals.
